The Complete Pacific Jazz Joe Pass Quartet Sessions is a compilation album by American jazz guitarist Joe Pass, released on Mosaic Records in 2001. It includes pieces Pass recorded on Pacific Jazz Records in 1963 and 1964.
For the purposes of this discography, only first U.S. issue of each track is given. [1]

Producer’s note:
This set contains all of Joe Pass’s sessions as a leader during 1963 and ’64. Because his unissued March 28, 1963 session (G) finds Pass supported by Les McCann’s trio, we’ve expanded the scope to include the guitarist’s other two recorded encounters with that trio, both of which were done under Les’s leadership and heavily feature Pass. We’ve taken liberties with the chronology of the sessions in two places so that the "Catch Me!" sessions and the live session can each be contained on a single CD.
Joe Pass’s post-1964 albums for the label ("A Sign Of The Times", "The Stones Jazz" and "Simplicity") are commercial ventures in larger musical settings. Their jazz content is minimal and therefore, they are not included here.
As with many Pacific Jazz tapes, there are odd edits here and there which were executed on the original master tapes and occasional dropouts.
Joe Pass was an American jazz guitarist. Although Pass is well known for his work stemming from numerous collaborations with pianist Oscar Peterson and vocalist Ella Fitzgerald, his status as one of the most notable jazz guitarists of the 20th century is generally attributed his work on his solo albums, such as Virtuoso.
Richard Arnold "Groove" Holmes was an American jazz organist who performed in the hard bop and soul jazz genre. He is best known for his 1965 recording of "Misty".
Herbie Lewis was an American jazz double bassist and jazz educator. He played or recorded with Cannonball Adderley, Stanley Turrentine, Bobby Hutcherson, Freddie Hubbard, Harold Land, Jackie McLean, Archie Shepp, Tete Montoliu and McCoy Tyner.
Leroy Vinnegar was an American jazz bassist. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, the self-taught Vinnegar established his reputation in Los Angeles, California, during the 1950s and 1960s. His trademark was the rhythmic "walking" bass line, a steady series of ascending or descending notes, and it brought him the nickname "The Walker". Besides his jazz work, he also appeared on a number of soundtracks and pop albums, notably Van Morrison's 1972 album, Saint Dominic's Preview.
Leslie Coleman McCann was an American jazz pianist and vocalist. He is known for his innovations in soul jazz and his 1969 recording of the protest song "Compared to What". His music has been widely sampled in hip hop.
Theodore Marcus "Teddy" Edwards was an American jazz tenor saxophonist.
Joseph Leslie Sample was an American jazz keyboardist and composer. He was one of the founding members of The Jazz Crusaders in 1960, after which its name was shortened to "The Crusaders" in 1971. He remained a part of the group until its final album in 1991, and also the 2003 reunion album Rural Renewal.
Pacific Jazz Records was a Los Angeles–based record company and label best known for cool jazz or West coast jazz. It was founded in 1952 by producer Richard Bock (1927–1988) and drummer Roy Harte (1924–2003). Harte, in 1954, also co-founded Nocturne Records with jazz bassist Harry Babasin (1921–1988).
John Pisano was an American jazz guitarist.
Paul Nelson Humphrey was an American jazz and R&B drummer.
Jack Nimitz was an American jazz baritone saxophonist, nicknamed "The Admiral".
