Formed in 1996 by Damien Paris, Andrew Totolos and Tim Kent, [1] The Giraffes are an active hard rock band from New York City. In 2001 Singer Aaron Lazar joined the band and was with them till 2011, until he took a three years hiatus. [2] In that time one record was released (Tales of the Black Whistle.) In 2014 singer Aaron Lazar rejoined the band and released the EP Usury. The current line-up consists of singer Aaron Lazar, guitarist Damien Paris, drummer Andrew Totolos, and bassist Hannah Moorhead. Their seventh full-length album, Flower of the Cosmos, was released in 2019 by Silver Sleeve and Rough Trade. [3] The album was recorded at Studio G in Brooklyn and produced by Tony Maimone and Francisco Botero. [4]

Hard rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music that began in the mid-1960s, with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. It is typified by a heavy use of aggressive vocals, distorted electric guitars, bass guitar, drums, and often accompanied with keyboards.

Rough Trade Records British record label

Rough Trade Records is an independent record label based in London, England. It was formed in 1978 by Geoff Travis who had opened a record store off Ladbroke Grove. Having successfully promoted and sold records by punk rock and early post-punk and indie pop bands such as the Smiths and Desperate Bicycles, Travis began to manage acts and distribute bands such as Scritti Politti and began the label, which was informed by left-wing politics and structured as a co-operative. Soon after, Rough Trade also set up a distribution arm that serviced independent retail outlets across Britain, a network that became known as the Cartel.

The Giraffes is the third full-length album by the hard rock band The Giraffes. It was released on Razor & Tie, and is their first record with the company. The track "Honey Baby Child" was written by and recorded in memory of Pierre Michel.

Razor & Tie is an American entertainment company that consists of a record label and a music publishing company. It was established in 1990 by Craig Balsam and Cliff Chenfeld. Based in New York City, Razor & Tie releases are distributed by Universal Music Group.

Pretty In Puke is the fifth recording and third EP by The Giraffes. Recorded and mixed at Studio G in Brooklyn NY, by Joel Hamilton, it contains four new songs and a new recording of "I'll Be Your Daddy" which had previously appeared on the EP Helping You Help Yourself in a different version.

Staind American rock band

Staind is an American alternative rock band formed in 1995. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist and backing vocalist Johnny April, and drummer Jon Wysocki. The lineup has been stable outside of the 2011 departure of Wysocki, who was replaced by Sal Giancarelli. Staind has recorded seven studio albums: Tormented (1996), Dysfunction (1999), Break the Cycle (2001), 14 Shades of Grey (2003), Chapter V (2005), The Illusion of Progress (2008), and Staind (2011).
