The Hara (stylised as THE HARA) is an English rock band from Manchester. The band was formed by Josh Taylor (lead vocalist]]), Zack Breen (guitar), and Jack Kennedy (drums) in 2017. [1]
The band formed in 2017. Despite all attending BIMM: Manchester at the same time, the bandmates did not meet until after graduation. [2]
The Hara released their first EP, No Regrets, in 2018. [3] The band then spent nearly two years touring the United Kingdom, advocating for youth mental health and completing hundreds of performances to over 4850 fans. [4] [5] In 2019, THE HARA released two more EPs, Unconscious Minds Innocently Blind and Tramp Brain. [6]
In April 2020, the Hara released their fourth EP, We Are the Movement. In September, they released their fifth EP, Play Dead, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes chart across all genres. [7]
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and subsequently, the COVID-19 lockdowns in the United Kingdom, the Hara had to cancel numerous concert dates and festival performances. [8] As an alternative, the Hara offered fans a virtual concert experience via live stream. [9] Also during lockdown, THE HARA gained popularity on TikTok for their frequent and diverse posts, which included skits, song covers, and live performance clips. THE HARA went viral on the platform in 2021. [10]
After restrictions on nightlife were lifted later on in 2021, the Hara rescheduled their tour and received critical acclaim for their numerous music festival performances including Download Festival, Reading and Leeds, Tramlines, and Slam Dunk. [11] [12] [13] [14] Their rescheduled 'Play Dead' tour kicked off in September and continued through November, with the majority of dates selling out. [15]
In April 2022, the Hara released their sixth EP, We All Wear Black, which reached No. 3 on the UK Rock & Metal albums chart. [16] The band also continued to perform at numerous music festivals in the UK and Europe, including Download Festival, The Great Escape, Rock for People, 2000trees, Y Not?, and others. [17] [18] [19] [20] [21] In June 2022, the Hara released their first live concert CD/DVD, Live at Satan's Hollow, in collaboration with Cosmic Joke, a Manchester-based video production company. [22]
The Hara made their live debut in the United States during SXSW in March 2023. [23] Later, the band released their debut album, SURVIVAL MODE, in April via Scruff of the Neck. [24] In support of this album, the Hara went on two tours in the UK and Europe, both with sold-out dates. [25] In June, the Hara supported Sum 41 during the Rock For People official afterparty. [26]
In February 2024, the band confirmed that their second studio album was forthcoming via social media. Throughout the year, THE HARA continued performing live in the UK and Europe, supporting both Ice Nine Kills [27] and Escape the Fate [28] on their respective UK tours. In July 2024, the Hara performed during the silent disco at 2000Trees. [29]
Kings of Leon is an American rock band formed in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, in 1999. The band includes brothers Caleb, Nathan, and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill.
Creeper are an English rock band from Southampton. Formed in 2014, the group originally featured vocalist Will Gould, guitarists Ian Miles and Sina Nemati, bassist Sean Scott, and drummer Dan Bratton. The band independently released their self-titled debut EP in 2014, before signing with Roadrunner Records and issuing follow-up The Callous Heart the next year. At the end of 2015, Nemati was replaced by Oliver Burdett and touring keyboardist/second vocalist Hannah Greenwood became an official band member. A third EP, The Stranger, was released in 2016 and reached the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart top ten.
Black Stone Cherry is an American rock band, formed in 2001 in Edmonton, Kentucky. They were signed to Roadrunner Records until 2015; the band is now signed to Mascot Label Group. The band consists of Chris Robertson, Ben Wells, Steve Jewell and John Fred Young. Black Stone Cherry has released eight studio albums as well as two EPs and have charted seventeen singles on the US Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. Their latest album, Screamin' at the Sky, was released in 2023.
2000trees is an independent rock music festival held over three days at Upcote Farm, Withington, near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, with a focus on upcoming and underground acts. It won the Grass Roots Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards 2010, 2013 and 2017 and the Best Medium-Sized UK Festival in 2018.
The Warning is a Mexican rock band from Monterrey, formed in 2013 by the Villarreal Vélez sisters: Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra. They have released four studio albums, two EPs, and 18 music videos. Their most recent studio album, Keep Me Fed, was released on June 28, 2024.
Park Jae-hyung, known professionally as eaJ (제이), is an Argentine-born American singer, songwriter, and former member of the South Korean rock band Day6. He gained early recognition by competing in the first season of K-pop Star in 2012, where he finished in sixth place before signing with JYP Entertainment. Park debuted as the lead guitarist and vocalist of Day6 in September 2015 and was with the group until his departure in December 2021.
Tigress are a British rock band from Chelmsford, England. They first performed together as the Hype Theory but reformed as Tigress in August 2015, abandoning their early songs. Tigress consists of vocalist Katy Jackson, guitarists Tom Harrison and Sean Bishop, bassist Jack Divey and drummer Josh Coombes. The band is currently independent. They were previously signed to Humble Angel Records where they released their debut album 'Pura Vida' on the 3rd September 2021 and LAB Records where they released their debut EP Human on 13 November 2015, follow up EP Like It Is on 12 May 2017 and 2018 EP Who Cares. All releases were met with much acclaim across a number of major and independent music publications.

Salem are a British punk rock band from Southampton. Formed in 2019, the group consists of vocalist Will Gould and guitarist Matt Reynolds. For live performances, the core duo are joined by bassist Ranny Ransom and drummer Aaron Graham. Initially conceived as a side project in the summer of 2019, Gould, Reynolds and Graham recorded five songs which they did not originally intend to release. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic meant that Creeper were unable to tour, the tracks were released as Salem's self-titled debut EP in 2020. A second five-track EP, Salem II, followed in 2021.
Heriot are a British metalcore band. The band was formed in Swindon in 2014 by lead guitarist Erhan Alman, bassist and vocalist Jake Packer and drummer Julian Gage ; in 2019, rhythm guitarist and vocalist Debbie Gough joined the band. They released their debut album, Devoured by the Mouth of Hell, through Century Media Records on 25 September 2024.
Profound Morality is the third extended play by British metalcore band Heriot, released on 29 April 2022 through Church Road Records. It is the band's first release as a quartet, featuring guitarist and vocalist Debbie Gough, who joined in 2019. The band wrote and recorded the bulk of the EP in five days at their rehearsal space in Bristol in April 2021. Whilst primarily categorized as a metalcore release, Profound Morality's sound combines elements from a variety of genres, including extreme metal, hardcore, industrial and noise music. Its lyrics, inspired by the "rhetoric of wealth and class" during the COVID-19 pandemic, focus on accountability, blame, integrity, questioning power, and identifying your morals.

Bilk are an English indie rock trio formed in Chelmsford, Essex, consisting of Sol Abrahams on vocals and guitar, Luke Hare on bass, and Harry Gray on drums. After debuting in 2018 and going on to release a number of singles and EPs, the band released their self-titled debut album in 2023.
Graphic Nature are a British nu metalcore band, based in Kent, England. The band's style mixes nu metal and metalcore with influences of electronic music, whilst its lyrics are themed around mental health. After self-releasing four singles, the band signed to Rude Records in 2021. The band released their debut album A Mind Waiting to Die in 2023, which they supported with performances at the 2000trees, Download, Reading & Leeds and Misery Loves Company festivals. Their second album, Who Are You When No One is Watching?, was released on 12 July 2024.
Mallavora is an English alternative metal band based in Bristol. Formed in 2019, the band is composed of lead vocalist Jessica Douek, guitarist Larry Sobieraj, bassist Ellis James, and drummer Jack Pedersen. Since their inception, they have released two EPs, Paradise (2020) and Origins (2023), and have performed at festivals including 2000trees and Download Festival. They have been noted for their advocacy of social causes, in particular disability access at concert venues.
