The Inkwell is the first mixtape by singer-songwriter-producer-rapper Sean Garrett, hosted by DJ Green Lantern. It was released on August 24, 2010, as a free download. [2] The mixtape features Soulja Boy, Roscoe Dash, Drake, Tyga, Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Bun B, and Yo Gotti.

An inkwell is a small jar or container, often made of glass, porcelain, silver, brass, or pewter, used for holding ink in a place convenient for the person who is writing. The artist or writer dips the brush, quill, or dip pen into the inkwell as needed or uses the inkwell as the source for filling the reservoir of a fountain pen. An inkwell usually has a lid to prevent contamination, evaporation, accidental spillage, and excessive exposure to air. A type known as the travelling inkwell was fitted with a secure screw lid so a traveller could carry a supply of ink in their luggage without the risk of leakage.

Garrett Robin Hamler known professionally as Sean Garrett, is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, and record producer. He was a credited songwriter for a series of successful R&B and hip hop recordings, most notably Usher's 2004 single "Yeah!". Along with "Yeah!", Garrett has written five other hit songs that peaked the Billboard Hot 100: "Goodies" for Ciara in 2003, "Check on It" for Beyoncé and "Run It!" for Chris Brown in 2005, "London Bridge" for Fergie and "Grillz" for Nelly in 2006. Throughout his career, Garrett has been nominated for four Grammy Awards.
