The Lyceum Academy

The Lyceum Academy was established by Gordon "Groomer" Massengill in 1998 at New Hanover High School in Wilmington, North Carolina. Inspired by Aristotle's Lyceum, the Lyceum Academy educates high school juniors and seniors in an accelerated college preparatory program. Since 2000, the Academy has offered immersive courses by including excursions to Key Largo, Atlanta, Costa Rica, Italy, Ecuador, Washington, D.C., and Arizona.

The program

Pupils are selected through an application and interview process, the latter of which is sometimes conducted with the aide of graduating Academy members.

The Lyceum Academy teaches four primary subjects: English, mathematics, social studies, and science.

In addition to normal schooling many of the students attend extracurricular tutorial classes of private centres that aim for preparation for higher education entrance examinations known as Pan-hellenic Examinations, and to develop abilities for foreign languages.

Zamojski Academy university

The Zamoyski Academy 1594–1784) was an academy founded in 1594 by Polish Crown Chancellor Jan Zamoyski. It was the third institution of higher education to be founded in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. After his death it slowly lost its importance, and in 1784 it was downgraded to a lyceum. The present-day I Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Hetmana Jana Zamoyskiego w Zamościu is one of several secondary schools in Zamość.

Lyceum of the Philippines University

The Lyceum of the Philippines University is an institute of higher education located in Intramuros in the City of Manila, Philippines. It was founded in 1952 by Dr. José P. Laurel, who became the third president of the Philippines, making LPU the only school founded by a Philippine president. He named the institution after lykeion, the grove in ancient Athens where Aristotle taught his pupils. Its educational vision is founded on principles that its founder, José P. Laurel, set down. It opened its gates to its first students on July 7, 1952.

The United States Naval Academy Museum is a public maritime museum in Annapolis, Maryland, United States. A part of the United States Naval Academy, it is located at Preble Hall within the Academy premises. The museum has an area of 12,000 square feet (1,100 m2) with four galleries. Lyceum Pirates

The LPU Pirates are the athletic teams that represent the Lyceum of the Philippines University and plays in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines), the oldest athletic association in the Philippines. Lyceum has fifteen collegiate men's varsity teams that participate in fifteen sporting events of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines), its mother league. They are popularly known as the "Pirata ng Intramuros". The women's varsity team is called the Lady Pirates, which plays in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) while the high school varsity basketball team is from the Cavite Campus' International High School which is called the Junior Pirates. The university takes part in various sports leagues and tournaments such as the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup, Fr. Martin's Cup, Philippine Collegiate Champions League, Milcu Sports Basketball Presents Got Skills Premier League, PBA Developmental League and Premier Volleyball League (PVL). Lyceum of the Philippines University is the youngest member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines).

NCAA Season 87 is the 2011–2012 season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) of the Philippines. The host school, University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD), led the opening ceremonies at the Araneta Coliseum on July 2, 2011.
