The Memories Attack is a Canadian indie pop duo from Atlantic Canada. The group consists of Eric's Trip guitarist Chris Thompson and Ron Bates of the pop group Orange Glass.

History

Thompson and Bates met during childhood [1] and had worked together previously under Thompson's solo project Moon Socket. They composed their self-titled debut album while living in separate cities, recording in Bates' basement studio when Thompson was able to make the trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia from his home in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The album appeared on the !earshot National Top 50 chart in January, 2007. [2]

Their music has been described as "hazy, sludgy pop" with an "infectiously upbeat, if delicate, feel". [3]

Their track "Love in the Time of Hate" has been in frequent rotation at CBC Radio 3 and reached No. 1 on the R3-30 chart the week of April 26, 2007.

Their second album was released in December 2008 on East Coast label Noyes Records. [4] [5]

Noyes Records is an independent record label based in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada. The music label was established in May 2005 by Chad Peck. Since 2005, the label represents mostly upcoming bands on the East Coast of Canada. In 2008, the label won the Coast's Best of Music Award for Best Local Label. Noyes bands have played notable national and international festivals including the Halifax Pop Explosion, Evolve Festival, and NXNE. Noyes artists are distributed nationally though Sonic Unyon, and are available on Zunior.com.

Chris Thompson is a Canadian musician who has performed in a variety of Maritime bands, including Eric's Trip, The Memories Attack, Orange Glass, and his solo project Moon Socket. Although Thompson was born in Ottawa, his family moved to Moncton, New Brunswick when he was five years old. Thompson began Moon Socket before Eric's Trip had broken up.

Olenka and the Autumn Lovers are a Canadian indie folk band from Vancouver, British Columbia. Fronted by Polish-born singer-songwriter Olenka Krakus, the band's sound is a mix of orchestral folk-pop with elements reminiscent of classic country and folk music, and Eastern European folk. The band uses diverse instruments to showcase Krakus' songwriting.

Ghostkeeper (band)

Ghostkeeper is a Canadian experimental pop/rock band led by Shane Ghostkeeper, who writes most of the songs, and includes members Sarah Houle, drummer Eric Hamelin and bassist Ryan Bourne. Their songs combine elements of '60s girl-group melodies, country music, ‘90s indie rock, African pop, and traditional Aboriginal pow wow music.
