"The Mirror's Truth" is a song by Swedish heavy metal band In Flames from their ninth album, A Sense of Purpose . It was released as a single/EP on 7 March 2008.

Contents

The disc contains the title track and three songs that did not appear on the album, of which two are previously unreleased. The cover artwork was created by Alex Pardee, who had designed the artwork for the whole A Sense of Purpose album. [1] [2] The music video was shot in an abandoned power plant in Scharins, Skellefteå, Sweden, and debuted on Myspace on 18 February 2008. [3] [4]

"The Mirror's Truth" is one of the songs chosen for the Madden NFL 09 video game soundtrack. [5] It is also featured in another video game, MX vs. ATV Reflex. The same version of "Abnegation" appeared on Viva La Bands, Volume 2 .

The discography of In Flames, a Swedish heavy metal band formed in the early 1990s, consists of thirteen studio albums, two live album, eight extended plays, thirty-one singles, two video albums, and forty-six music videos. Signed with Wrong Again Records, In Flames released their full-length debut, Lunar Strain (1994), followed by the EP Subterranean (1995). After signing to Nuclear Blast, they released The Jester Race (1996). The following year, they issued their second EP, Black-Ash Inheritance, and the full-length album Whoracle. The band's fourth studio album, Colony (1999), reached the top 30 in Sweden and Finland. Clayman followed in the same vein the next year, reaching the top 20 in the same countries. The tour to promote it was released as The Tokyo Showdown (2001) live album, which also charted in Sweden and Finland, breaking the top 40. Reroute to Remain (2002) peaked at number 5 on the Swedish and Finnish charts, and number 10 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart. The album was accompanied by the band's first single, "Cloud Connected", which failed to chart.

Tomas Haake made his return as the studio drummer for the record after the Drumkit from Hell drum software was used on Catch Thirtythree. It is also the first album on which bassist Dick Lovgren performs despite having been a member of the band since 2004; this is due to the bass having been digitally programmed on the previous album, Catch Thirtythree, and the bass having been performed by guitarist Fredrik Thordendal on the previous I ep. The release of the album was followed by their first world tour. A video was filmed for a shorter version of the song "Bleed". A Sense of Purpose is the ninth studio album by Swedish heavy metal band In Flames, first released in Japan on 26 March 2008. It was released on 1 April and 4 April 2008 in North America and Europe respectively. A Sense of Purpose is the final In Flames album with founding guitarist Jesper Strömblad, at this point the last original member, as he quit in February 2010. Ending the lineup that had stayed together since Colony . The album debuted at number 1 on the official Swedish album chart. On 21 May 2009, the song "Disconnected" became an available download for the video game Guitar Hero World Tour.

We Rule the Night is the first full-length release by the band to feature the vocals of Nathan James Biggs who replaced former singer Roland Johansson who left the band in 2009. However, it is also the last album to feature founding members Richard and Roger Sjunnesson, who both left the band in October 2010 and May 2012 respectively. The band toured Europe to support the album with the "We Rule the World Tour", starting on September 15, 2010 with Christoffer Andersson standing in for Richard.
