The Mixing It Session is an EP by Disco Inferno. [2] [3] It was released in 1999 on Tugboat Records in the United Kingdom. [4] [5] A six-song single taken from a BBC Radio 3 session recorded in 1994, it was released many years after Disco Inferno had disbanded. [1]

Critical reception

AllMusic wrote: "'Bird' begins innocently enough as a standard issue ambient instrumental, but by the end you find yourself at a pool party, listening to Caribbean music while submerged in the deep end. The closing 'Rats' sounds most like old Disco Inferno, thanks to Ian Crause's Vini Reilly-like guitar spirals." [1]

Disco Inferno was an English experimental rock band active in the late 1980s and the 1990s. Initially a trio of guitar, bass, and drums performing in an identifiable post-punk style, the band soon pioneered a dynamic use of digital sampling in addition to standard rock instruments. While commercially unsuccessful during their existence, the band is considered to be a key post-rock act.

John Paul "Jak" Housden is an Australian musician. He was the guitarist for The Badloves and later joined The Whitlams. As a solo artist he issued a studio album, Mad About Disco, in 2004.

Technicolour was shelved for nearly two years after the band had dissolved. A projected EP release of "Sleight of Hand" was canceled, and an entire album's worth of songs already recorded by singer/guitarist Ian Crause remains unreleased.

His production ethic included a period of pre-production, the first time the band had used this process.
