The Ports is the second of the two debut solo EPs by American rapper and record producer J57. [1] Preceded by 2057 , The Ports was released in memory of Bryan "Ports" Coyle, a friend who J57 said was instrumental in his journey into music. [2]

Extended play Musical recording longer than a single but shorter than a full album

An extended play record, usually referred to as an EP, is a musical recording that contains more tracks than a single but fewer than an album or LP record. Contemporary EPs generally contain four or five tracks, and are considered "less expensive and time-consuming" for an artist to produce than an album. An EP originally referred to specific types of records other than 78 rpm standard play (SP) and LP, but it is now applied to mid-length CDs and downloads as well.

Jon Foreman American musician

Jonathan Mark Foreman is an American musician, the lead singer, guitarist, main songwriter and co-founder of the alternative rock band Switchfoot. <i>Echoes in a Shallow Bay</i> 1985 EP by Cocteau Twins

Echoes in a Shallow Bay is an EP by Scottish alternative rock band Cocteau Twins, released on 4AD. The EP featured four non-album tracks. It was issued on 29 November 1985, two weeks after another EP, Tiny Dynamine. The two EP sets, which featured complementary artwork, were also released as a combined double EP in a gatefold cover, and as an eight-track CD. The EP was reissued in 1991 as part of The Box Set and in 2005 as part of the singles/EP collection Lullabies to Violaine. A new vinyl version, sourced from digital files created from a new transfer of the original analogue tapes, was released in 2015, combined with the Tiny Dynamine EP.

J57 (rapper) Musical artist

J57 is a Brooklyn-based American, rapper, songwriter, record producer, & record label owner, that infuses hiphop with indie rock, pop, folk & Americana music. He is a member of the Brown Bag AllStars, a group of emcees he helped create while working at Fat Beats in 2004, and Jamo Gang, a hip-hop group along with Ras Kass and El Gant. J57 cites DJ Eclipse and his mentor DJ Premier, as his musical influences. He owns a record label called FiveSe7en Collective which is the home of a lot of new, promising talent in different genres of music.

Dirty Projectors American rock group

Dirty Projectors is an American indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2002. The band is the project of singer-songwriter David Longstreth, who has served as the band's sole constant member throughout numerous line-up changes. The band's current line-up consists of Longstreth, alongside Mike Daniel Johnson (drums), Maia Friedman, Felicia Douglass and Kristin Slipp.

Jucifer

Jucifer are a two piece American sludge metal band whose albums have been released by Alternative Tentacles, Capricorn Records, and Relapse Records along with their own imprint Nomadic Fortress Records. The band's members are Gazelle Amber Valentine on lead guitar and vocals, and her husband Edgar Livengood on drums. Jucifer is notable for the extreme volume at which they perform, and the gigantic wall of amplification used for Valentine's guitar, as well as the dichotomy that has existed between much of the recorded material and their live shows. They are also notable for incessant touring beginning in the mid-1990s. In 2000 Jucifer moved into an RV and became completely "nomadic in nature", preferring to tour constantly, living in their tour vehicle, rather than following the normal practice of album release/tour/time at home.

Pop, Songs & Death is a duo of EPs released by American rock band Wheatus. The first EP, entitled The Lightning EP, was released in June 2009. The second EP, entitled The Jupiter EP, was released in December 2010. The EPs were released as an album, Pop, Songs & Death, in November 2012.

<i>Glee</i> albums discography

The Glee cast has released sixteen soundtrack albums, six compilation albums and eleven extended plays (EPs), containing 754 different performances of an individual song or a mashup of two or more songs in a single performance. Of the performances on the various albums and EPs, 460 were also released as singles. Glee features on-screen performance-based musical numbers, most of which are cover versions of popular songs, with genres ranging from R&B and pop to country and show tunes. The cast consists of fifteen main characters; some actors were cast following Broadway theatre experience while others were required to audition to prove singing and dancing capabilities. Recordings of performances on the show are sold as singles the week of broadcast, available for download.

Honeycomb / Gotham

"Honeycomb" and "Gotham" are two tracks released on a double A-side single in advance of Animal Collective's ninth studio album, Centipede Hz. It was announced via the band's official website and was made available for free streaming on May 6, 2012. The physical single was put up for presale on Domino's online store, with an MP3 download being available simultaneously. Neither of the songs were released on Centipede Hz. The single has also been referred to as Centipede Hz's EP, or accompanying songs, as they were outtakes from the Centipede Hz recording sessions; this is supported by the fact that the 3 EPs predating Honeycomb/Gotham consisted mainly of outtake material that didn't make it on their accompanying LPs.

The Paper Kites are an Australian indie rock/folk rock band from Melbourne, Victoria. The band was formed in 2009 by lead vocalist/guitarist Sam Bentley and keyboardist/guitarist Christina Lacy. Beatrice Annika Miller is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She came in ninth place on season two of The X Factor (US) when she was 13 years old. She was later signed to Hollywood Records. Her debut EP Young Blood was released in 2014, and her debut album Not an Apology was released on July 24, 2015. In 2016, she released the single "Yes Girl". During 2017, she released the EPs Chapter One: Blue, Chapter Two: Red, and Chapter Three: Yellow. The three EPs, along with five additional songs, were collected as her second studio album, Aurora.

Koncept Musical artist

Keith Michael Whitehead, popularly known by his stage name Koncept, is an American rapper, emcee and songwriter. A former employee at Fat Beats, Koncept started out drawing graffiti and also had a short stint as a DJ before he went on to start writing songs and doing freestyles until he released his first EP in 2010 titled Playing Life. In 2012, he had his first break with his debut solo album titled Awaken which featured guest appearances from Soul Khan, Homeboy Sandman, Royce da 5'9" and Sene with production credits from J57 and Marco Polo. In 2015, he collaborated with J57 to release an EP titled The Fuel which had its fair share of positive review from notable magazines including Respect Magazine, DJ Booth, HipHopDX and The Source.

2057 is the first of the two debut solo EPs by American rapper and record producer J57. Released simultaneously along with The Ports, 2057 features vocal appearances from notable artistes including DJ Brace, Sene, Homeboy Sandman, Rob Kelly, Soul Khan, Koncept, Silent Knight and Theory Hazit.

Mark Vincent Woodford, better known by his stage name The Audible Doctor, is a Brooklyn-based American record producer and underground rapper. The Audible Doctor has been credited as producer in critically acclaimed studio albums and EPs including Made In The Streets, 2057, The Ports, Reporting Live, Computer Era, Free Agent and Thug Matrix 3. On 3 January 2014, he was listed in AllHipHop 's "Top 50 Underground/Indie/Emerging Artists Of 2013" before he went on to make a guest appearance at the 2014 edition of the annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. He is a member of the Brown Bag AllStars, a group of emcees he joined while interning at Fat Beats in 2007.

<i>4AM Mulholland</i> 2018 EP by Amerie

4AM Mulholland is the second extended play (EP) by American R&B singer Amerie, released on October 19, 2018, through Feeniix Rising Entertainment. It was released along with its sister EP, After 4AM. The LPs have been called a "two-sided concept album draped in late-night vibes and musings on love".
