Priyadarshan is an Indian film director and screenwriter. In a career spanning almost three decades, Priyadarshan has directed over 90 films in several Indian languages, predominantly Malayalam and Hindi, besides eight in Tamil, and two in Telugu. He is recipient of several accolades including three National Film Awards and Kerala State Film Awards. In 2012, the Government of India honoured him the Padma Shri, country's fourth highest civilian award.

The film is about a man who marries twice because of circumstances beyond his control and is forced to live a double life to cover his tracks.

A remake of the 1987 Hindi film Khudgarz, itself based on Jeffrey Archer's 1979 novel Kane and Abel, it stars Rajinikanth, Khushbu and Sarath Babu with Radha Ravi, Nizhalgal Ravi and Manorama in supporting roles. The film revolves around Annaamalai, a poor milkman, and Ashok, a wealthy hotelier, who have been friends since childhood, a friendship opposed by Ashok's father who attempts to create a rift between the two.

The music was composed by Sirpy with cinematography by U. K. Senthil Kumar and editing by P. Sai Suresh. The film released on 29 August 1996. It is a remake of the 1990 Malayalam film His Highness Abdullah.
Vedan ( transl. Hunter) is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language crime action film directed by Suresh Krissna and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. The film stars R. Sarathkumar and Khushbu, with Charan Raj, Sarath Babu, Easwari Rao and Radha Ravi in supporting roles. It follows Inspector Vijay as he joins the gang of a notorious criminal, Bhoopathi, under an assumed identity with the sole intention of infiltrating it and also falls in love with his superior officer Ganesh's sister Usha and later witness the slaughter of Ganesh who gave him the task. How Vijay completes the mission even though Bhoopathi has begun to suspect his identity forms the crux of the story. The film was released on 6 May 1993.

Odiyan (transl. Shapeshifter) is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language fantasy drama film directed by V. A. Shrikumar Menon in his feature film debut. The film was written by Harikrishnan; it is based on the legend of the Odiyan clan, who in Kerala folklore are men believed to possess shapeshifting abilities and can assume animal forms. Odiyans are said to have inhabited the Malabar region of Kerala before the widespread use of electricity. The film stars Mohanlal in the title role, alongside an ensemble cast of Prakash Raj, Manju Warrier, Siddique, Innocent, Manoj Joshi, Sana Althaf, Kailesh, Narain, Sreejaya Nair and Nandhu Krishnamoorthy; it was produced by Antony Perumbavoor through Aashirvad Cinemas.
