The Rebbie Jackson Collection is a compilation album by American singer Rebbie Jackson. [1]

The compilation was issued in 1996 throughout Europe due to Jackson's popularity in the rare groove scene in the 90's. It includes songs from her three 80's albums, mainly ballads and mid-tempo album tracks. Also included is her signature hit, Centipede .

For collectors, the album also includes the rare song Eternal Love, originally released as the b-side of her single A Fork in the Road. [2]

Maureen Reillette "Rebbie" Jackson-Brown is an American singer. Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, she is the eldest child of the Jackson family of musicians. She first performed on stage with her siblings during shows in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in 1974, before subsequently appearing in the television series The Jacksons. Her sister La Toya was born on her sixth birthday. At age 34, Jackson released her debut album Centipede (1984). The album featured songs written by Smokey Robinson, Prince, and Jackson's younger brother Michael, whose contribution became Rebbie's most successful single release. By the end of the 1980s, the singer had released two more albums in quick succession: Reaction (1986) and R U Tuff Enuff (1988).

The Weather Girls are an American female duo whose best-known line-up comprised Martha Wash and Izora Armstead. Formed in 1976 in San Francisco, California, The Weather Girls members began their musical career as Two Tons O' Fun, the female backup duo for disco singer Sylvester. After years of limited success singing background for Sylvester, the duo were signed in 1979 to Fantasy Records. The Weather Girls was launched into mainstream recognition following the release of their best-selling single, "It's Raining Men" (1982), which became their first number-one Dance song. The single "Plaything" peaked at number eight on the Billboard R&B charts, Jackson's highest-charting single since 1984's "Centipede". The title track was also released as a single, but it was not as commercially successful.

"A Fork in the Road" is a 1965 Motown song recorded by American R&B singing group The Miracles, and written by Miracles members Smokey Robinson, Pete Moore, and Ronnie White, on Motown Records' Tamla subsidiary label. (T54118) This song was included as the closing track on the Miracles' 1965 studio LP, Going to a Go-Go, and was also released as the B-side of their million-selling Grammy Hall of Fame hit single, "The Tracks of My Tears". The Old, The New & The Best of Mary Wells is a 1983 album released by Motown singer Mary Wells on the independent label Allegiance Records.
