The Same Sun is the second studio album by Irish singer-songwriter Sharon Corr and was released on 16 September 2013.
Corr revealed in an interview with Nick Milligan in January 2012 that she was piecing together her second solo record. "We're going to record it in May and hopefully have it out in September/October." Sharon is taking a new approach with the writing of this record, "Mostly my whole life I've written on my own. Some of the songs I wrote for The Corrs, like "So Young" and "Radio", I wrote myself. So for the new album I've been writing with other people and that's been brilliant. It's brought other angles to my music that perhaps wouldn't have been there." [1]
Corr finished writing the album in March 2012 and she said it may be called Catch the Moon. The title comes from the idea "of when somebody comes into your life and they utterly change yours, that you would go to any lengths for them... so you would catch the moon." [2] However, on 21 August 2013, it was announced that the album would be titled The Same Sun.
The Same Sun was first released in Indonesia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and the Philippines on 16 September 2013, with selected countries following later.

The Same Sun has obtained generally positive reviews from critics. According to Mojo (magazine), Corr has "unleashed a deep, husky voice to deliver '60s influenced about adult vulnerability, remorse and temptation." Graham Clark from The Yorkshire Times gave the album a 3 over 5, stating that her style is "not that far removed from Carole King, Gloria Estefan and Karen Carpenter, in fact you could imagine any of these artists singing these songs." Pip Ellwood from Entertainment Focus, who gave the album 4 stars out of 5, commented that "The Same Sun is a gorgeous collection of songs from one of the most talented female artists in the industry."

Cowboy Junkies are an alternative country and folk rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1985 by Alan Anton (bassist), Michael Timmins, Peter Timmins (drummer) and Margo Timmins (vocalist). The three Timminses are siblings, and Anton worked with Michael Timmins during their first couple of bands. John Timmins was a member of the band but left the group before the recording of their debut studio album. The title track was written and recorded as a tribute to Kurt Cobain in wake of his suicide. Daniel Dodd Wilson is an American musician, singer, songwriter, visual artist and record producer who has been called the songwriter's songwriter. His songwriting résumé includes "Closing Time", which he wrote for his band, Semisonic; "Not Ready to Make Nice", co-written with The Chicks; and "Someone Like You", co-written with Adele. Wilson's work earned him a Grammy nomination for "Closing Time" and garnered him Grammy wins for Song of the Year and Album of the Year as a producer for Adele's 21 in 2012.
"Speak to Me" is the first track on English rock band Pink Floyd's 1973 album, The Dark Side of the Moon, on which it forms an overture. Nick Mason receives a rare solo writing credit for the track, though recollections differ as to the reasons for this. Mason states that he created the track himself, whereas Richard Wright and Roger Waters stated the credit was a "gift" to Mason to give him some publishing income. Together Alone is the fourth studio album by New Zealand-Australian band Crowded House. It was released in October 1993 and was their first album to feature multi-instrumentalist Mark Hart as a full band member. Unlike the band's first three albums, which were recorded in the US and Australia and produced by Mitchell Froom, Together Alone was recorded in New Zealand with producer Youth. Six singles were released from Together Alone, including "Distant Sun", which was a top 10 hit in New Zealand and Canada, and "Locked Out" which reached number 12 on the UK singles chart and number 8 on the US Modern Rock chart, the latter on the strength of the song's inclusion on the soundtrack of the 1994 film Reality Bites.
