In music, a single is a type of release, typically a song recording of fewer tracks than an LP record or an album. This can be released for sale to the public in a variety of formats. In most cases, a single is a song that is released separately from an album, although it usually also appears on an album. Typically, these are the songs from albums that are released separately for promotional uses such as digital download, or video release. In other cases a recording released as a single may not appear on an album.

Former drummer Jeremiah Edmond parted ways with the band in January 2010 to focus on his family and on running the band's record label, Favorite Gentlemen. The band's original bassist, Jonathan Corley, parted ways with the band in 2013. Keyboardist/percussionist Chris Freeman announced his departure from the band in September 2016.

The limited release EP has a primarily country pop sound and features alternate versions of tracks from her self-titled debut album (2006), and two original tracks, title track and "I Heart ?", which Swift had composed as early as 2003. "I Heart ?" was previously released for digital download with the purchase of the Best Buy exclusive version CD of Swift's self-titled debut album in 2006. A DVD, featuring music videos of singles from her self-titled debut album, is also included on the physical release of the EP.

The album was produced by Rick Rubin who produced their previous two full-length studio albums, 2009's I and Love and You and 2012's The Carpenter. The band first announced they were working on the album in a June 12, 2013 interview and that the songs were all recorded during The Carpenter's recording sessions. The album's title and release date, along with the first single from the album "Another is Waiting," were released on NPR's All Songs Considered on August 8, 2013. All eleven songs became available for streaming on October 9, 2013 on NPR's First Listen.
Kero Kero Bonito (KKB) are a British indie pop band from London. The band consists of vocalist Sarah Midori Perry and producers and multi-instrumentalists Gus Lobban and Jamie Bulled. Their name's meaning is intentionally ambiguous, with one derivation from the Japanese onomatopoeic words for frog croaks and a type of fish. Other meanings include the Brazilian quero-quero bird while "bonito" means "beautiful" in both Portuguese and Spanish, thus "Beautiful Quero-quero" – or even "I want, I want beautiful" in a rough translation.
Live, Vol. Four is the fourth live album from The Avett Brothers. The album and its concert DVD counterpart were released on December 18, 2015. The vinyl edition was released on September 30, 2016. It contains 14 tracks, including four covers and two never-released original songs.
True Sadness is the ninth studio album by American folk rock band The Avett Brothers. Produced by Rick Rubin, the album was released on June 24, 2016, through American Recordings and Republic Records. A vinyl edition was released on August 5, 2016. At the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, the album was nominated for Best Americana Album, and the first track "Ain't No Man" was nominated for Best American Roots Performance. The production of the album is chronicled in the 2017 Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio documentary May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers.
