The Skybridge City Centre Kota Kinabalu or well known as The Sabahan KK Skybridge is a Skyway and pedestrian zone bridge in Sabah, Malaysia. it's been recorded as the first longest Skyway of 2024 in Sabah. It's located near Centre Point Sabah, the one of the shopping centre in Kota Kinabalu. The Sabahan KK Skybridge was officiated by the 16th Chief Minister of Sabah Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, which was equipped with escalators, an elevator for the disabled and 20 air-conditioned retail kiosks. The KK Skybridge project aims to provide a safe convenience for the public and also for the disabled to move around as it currently links Oceanus Shopping Mall, Api-Api Centre, and Asia City. [11] [12]
In conjunction with the Centre Point Mall's 32nd anniversary in August 2022, the Centre Point shopping centre mall has planned several events, which include the Cosmaniac Cosplay Showdown (August 6–7, 2022), Mobile Legends Bang Bang Champion (August 13–14, 2022), Pikachu Showcase (August 21–27, 2022) and Shop and Redeem: Free Lunch Bag (September 9-22, 2022). The Hilton KK and Marriott KK are about 2 km away from each other, but a Grab ride including the waiting time took a person close to 20 minutes. However, The Skybridge Kota Kinabalu has changed the walktime and time perspective for pedestrian since 2024. [15] [16] [17]
This Sky Bridge is a total of 400m long and it connects with major malls and hotels nearby. At least four malls and four hotels are connected via this semi Air conditioned sky bridge system. Both sides of the major entrance and exit of this sky bridge have escalators and lifts. [18]
A skyway, skybridge, skywalk, or sky walkway is an elevated type of pedway connecting two or more buildings in an urban area, or connecting elevated points within mountainous recreational zones. Urban skyways very often take the form of enclosed or covered footbridges that protect pedestrians from the weather. Open-top modern skyways in mountains now often have glass bottoms. Sometimes enclosed urban skywalks are made almost totally from glass, including ceilings, walls and floors. Also, some urban skyways function strictly as linear parks designed for walking.
Kota Kinabalu, colloquially referred to as KK, is the state capital of Sabah, Malaysia. It is also the capital of the Kota Kinabalu District as well as the West Coast Division of Sabah. The city is located on the northwest coast of Borneo facing the South China Sea. The Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park lies to its west and Mount Kinabalu, which gave the city its name, is located to its east. Kota Kinabalu has a population of 452,058 according to the 2010 census; when the adjacent Penampang and Tuaran districts are included, the metro area has a combined population of 628,725. The 2020 Census revealed an increase in the municipal population to 500,421, while the wider area including the Penampang and Putatan districts had a population of 731,406.

Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) is an international airport in Kota Kinabalu, the state capital of Sabah, Malaysia, approximately 8 km (5.0 mi) southwest of the city centre. In 2023, the airport handled over 7 million passengers passengers, making it the second busiest airport in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur International Airport in terms of both passenger and aircraft movements, though the number fell short of its peak in 2019, when it recorded over 9 million passengers passengers. It is also the third busiest in Malaysia for cargo.
Gaya Island is a sizeable Malaysian island of 1,465 ha, just 10 minutes off Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and forms part of the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park. Gaya Island derived its name from the word "Gayo" which means big in both the Kadazandusun and Bajau languages and occupies an area of 15 km2 with an elevation of up to 300 metres. Several ridges rise more than 600 feet, peaking at 1,000 feet, along the backbone of Gaya Island.

The Kota Kinabalu Line is a proposed light rapid transit (LRT) system network in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, as one of the method to ease traffic congestion in the city. The proposal has been considered, and as reported in the government website, the project was in the ground breaking process under the Kota Kinabalu development plan. The current under construction project of the Aeropod rail station in Tanjung Aru also has made a provision for LRT in their plan.
The BRT Kota Kinabalu is a bus rapid transit (BRT) project to improve bus services in the city of Kota Kinabalu. An allocation of around MYR1 billion has been provided by the Malaysian government under the 2016 Malaysian Budget to implement the project. Currently, the project is under studies between the federal and state governments and it was predicted to be finished in 2020. It has also been lauded by the Prasarana Malaysia, the government-owned company specialise in bus and light metro development, the Chief Minister of Sabah, Musa Aman and various other politicians who said they have been waited for almost 10 years.
