Cash Money is an American record label founded by two brothers, Bryan "Birdman" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams. The label is distributed by Republic, which used to be Universal Republic. The label itself has been home to a roster of hip hop artists, including Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj. This led to Cash Money becoming one of the most successful record labels in hip-hop history.
Lloyd Harlin Polite Jr., better known by his mononym Lloyd, is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer, and actor. Lloyd began his career in music as a member of the preteen-boy band N-Toon. The group disbanded in 2001 and Lloyd embarked on a solo career in 2003. He subsequently signed a recording contract with Murder Inc. Records and Def Jam Recordings. In 2004, Lloyd released his solo debut single "Southside", the title track of his debut album, Southside. The single features Ashanti, and it quickly charted on the US Billboard Hot 100, and became a Top 40 hit. His second album Street Love, was released on March 13, 2007. It featured the top-twenty hits "You" and "Get It Shawty".
"Slow Motion" is a song by rapper Juvenile featuring Soulja Slim. It was released as a single on March 1, 2004 and is Juvenile's only number one hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The song is an original production by Dani Kartel. It held the number-one position on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks from August 7, 2004, and was the first number one for both Juvenile and Soulja Slim. It was the seventh song to reach number 1 posthumously for a credited artist and also the first number 1 hit for Cash Money Records.
Urban Legend is the third studio album by American rapper T.I., released on November 30, 2004, through Grand Hustle Records and Atlantic Records. The album debuted at number seven on the US Billboard 200, selling 195,000 copies in its first week of release. It also debuted at number one on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and the Top Rap Albums charts.
"Snap Yo Fingers" is a 2006 American hip hop single by Atlanta-based rapper/producer Lil Jon. It was originally intended to be the first single from Lil Jon's solo debut album, Crunk Rock. The song was produced by Lil Jon and features E-40 and Sean P. The catchy, up-tempo and club oriented Southern hip hop track allowed the song to peak at number 7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
American rapper Lil' Kim has released five studio albums, one compilation album, four mixtapes, and thirty-six singles. In 1994, Kim was a member of the hip hop group Junior M.A.F.I.A.. Released August 15, 2000 and distributed by Def Jam Recordings, Hip Hop Music Awards 2000 is the second annual album produced by the magazine to focus on its nominees of the now-defunct award show. It features seventeen hip hop and rap hits. It went to number 16 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart and peaked at number 17 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
American rapper Lil Wayne has released 275 singles – including 19 promotional singles. Lil Wayne attained his first singles chart entry in 1999 as a featured artist on Hot Boys member Juvenile's single "Back That Azz Up", which peaked at number 19 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 and became a top ten hit on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts. Carl Eugene Lilly Jr., better known by his stage name Gudda Gudda, is an American rapper from New Orleans. He was originally a member of Sqad Up with Kidd Kidd and Lil Wayne. After forging a long-time friendship with Wayne, he signed to Young Money Entertainment, and later Republic Records.
"Rock the Party" is a song written and performed by American rapper Raymond "Benzino" Scott and featuring singer-songwriter Mario "Yellowman" Winans. It was released on September 3, 2002 via Elektra Records as the lead single from Benzino's second solo studio album Redemption. Recording sessions took place at Planet 2 Planet in New York with Wayne Allison. Production was handled by Winans. It was mixed by Paul Logus at the Hit Factory Criteria in Miami and mastered by Chris Gehringer at Sterling Sound in New York. Young Heff remixed version featured guest verses from Lil' Kim and Petey Pablo.
