The Summer Obsession is an American punk rock band formed in 2004, known for mixing punk, hip hop, electronica, reggae, and many other genres.

History

The band was originally formed in 2004 by Fin Leavell & Luke Walker, joined just a few months later by Chris Wilson. The band has toured with Cartel, Mýa, Story of the Year, Saosin, Sugarcult, The Click Five, Permanent Me, Hit the Lights, Houston Calls, Monty Are I, Against All Authority, Whole Wheat Bread, Plain White T's, and New Years Day. Two Types Of People was the first CD released by the outfit. The group was slated to play on dates of the 2004 Warped Tour, but their stage was cancelled; after finding this out, they moved to Los Angeles, where they landed a deal with Virgin Records. [1] [2] The group saw early exposure through MySpace, as founder Tom Anderson was an early for their music. [3] Late in 2005, they appeared on a MySpace Records compilation. [1]

This Is Where You Belong was their debut major label album, released in August 2006 on Virgin Records. [4] [5] They appeared on Cartoon Network's Fridays and performed the songs "Melt the Sugar" and "Disappear". They have also played in Japan on two occasions.

Prior to 2003, they were known as Tetra Splendour, and before that, they went by the name of Robots in the Sky. Their final name was derived from the band's obsession with air travel, which is also present in their song titles and lyrics.

Temposhark was an English electronic rock band, formed in London and Brighton by singer-songwriter Robert Diament and one-time music producer Luke Busby. Temposhark were best known for their songs "Bye Bye Baby", "Joy", "It's Better To Have Loved" and "Not That Big", a duet with singer Imogen Heap which appeared on their 2008 debut album, The Invisible Line. Their second album, Threads, was released in 2010 and reached the top 15 on the iTunes UK electronic albums chart. Stoney is a British musician, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and performer. To date he has released 3 solo albums and six E.P's under his performer name of Stoney. Known for his sharp lyrics and classic melodies, he first came to prominence in the "New Yorkshire" music scene in the mid-2000s touring and working alongside acts such as Arctic Monkeys, Long Blondes and Reverend and the Makers. Following relocation to Austin, Texas in 2009, he became a founding member, songwriter and guitarist of acclaimed "dirt-pop" band Bobby Jealousy, who released two full-length albums between 2012 and 2014, before resuming his solo career back in the UK.
