The Talking Mickey Mouse was an animated character toy, created by Worlds of Wonder in 1986, and based on the Disney character Mickey Mouse. Worlds of Wonder also created the animated bear toy Teddy Ruxpin.

The Mickey Mouse toy would move its eyes, nose, and jaw to a pre-recorded cassette tape in the toy's back, specially coded with animation signals. The toy tells stories of Mickey's travels to foreign countries with his pal, Goofy. The cassettes included a book to follow along.

The stories

Often, Mickey and Goofy are put into the mode of being detectives, when they start out just being normal tourists. Many of the things that happen are impossible, but by the end of the story, the two characters give a "thought" that can give inspiration.

Outfits

World of Wonder made at least three extra outfits for Mickey. These were sold separately under the WOW label named "Mickey's Costume Closet"

Goofy

Shortly after Mickey, Worlds of Wonder created an animated Goofy to sit aside Mickey. Goofy used the same cassettes, but also the use of a double-ended audio patch cord and 4 "C" Batteries to function with Mickey. Goofy was not made to function alone.

He is a character of The Walt Disney Company and often appears as a nemesis and the main antagonist in Mickey Mouse universe stories. He was originally an anthropomorphic bear but with the advent of Mickey Mouse in 1928, he was defined as a cat. Pete is the oldest continuing Disney character, having debuted three years before Mickey Mouse in the cartoon Alice Solves the Puzzle (1925). Pete wasn't named in the first year of Mickey Mouse cartoons, and in the 1929 short When the Cat's Away, he signs his name as "Tom Cat". The Talking Mother Goose

The Talking Mother Goose was an animated character toy created by Alchemy II and Worlds of Wonder in 1986, capable of telling fairy tales and singing songs recorded on a cassette mounted in the toy. The character is portrayed as a goose, rather than the woman of the Mother Goose stories. In 1993, Playskool made a smaller version of Mother Goose that played cartridge tapes.
