The Wave is an indoor waterpark situated in Coventry in the West Midlands, England. The waterpark currently holds the record for the largest wave pool in the UK, at a capacity of 20 million litres. [1] The Wave caters for visitors of all ages with six slides of varying intensity and speed, along with a lazy river, wave pool and splash zone - The Reef - which hosts mini slides, jets, climbing area and giant tipping bucket.

The waterpark at The Wave opened on 21 October 2019, while the gym and the spa opened in July 2019. [2] The building cost £36.7 million to build. [3] The Wave has won an award from the World Waterpark Association. [4] [5]

The waterpark caters for all abilities with pool hoists and pods, free parking outside the building, disabled toilets and changing facilities.

There is also an on-site cafe, Mana Spa, and state-of-the-art Lifestyles gym available to the public inside The Wave's main building.

Slides

A total of six slides are in operation at The Wave:

The CascadeA fully enclosed slide which utilises lighting effects speed of 8 Mph.
The CrestarA slide which has lighting effects like the Cascade, but features two fully lit open spaces along the ride. An inline tube slide speed of 5 Mph.
The CycloneA slide which concludes with a bowl, which riders circle around through centrifugal force before leaving through a hole in the centre speed of 10 Mph and plunging into the pool below.
The RapidsA water coaster family slide, and the longest of the six slides at 174 metres long. An inline tube slide speed of 14 Mph.
The RiptideA half-pipe inline tube slide where users will experience a return trip. Speed of 15\16 Mph.
The TorrentA speed slide. This is the tallest and most intense slide that begins with riders plunging through a trap door from the highest point in the park. Speed of 17 Mph.

ProSlide Technology, Inc. is a Canadian designer and manufacturer of water rides and water park resorts. They design and manufacture both traditional slides and innovative rides such as water coasters, funnel-shaped Tornado slides, and Bowl slides. ProSlide has received attention for being the first water slide manufacturer to build a water slide using linear induction motors and for designing the Mammoth watercoaster which was named the world's longest watercoaster by Guinness World Records in 2016. Since 1986, ProSlide has developed and designed water rides for water parks in over 40 countries around the world.

Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort is a large water resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. It is one of the largest indoor waterpark complexes in the world with a combined size of 240,000 square feet (22,000 m2). It is part of a chain of two resorts, the newer and smaller one being Wilderness at the Smokies in Tennessee. The chain also includes four small outdoor waterparks.

Fantaseas was a chain of indoor waterparks situated in the United Kingdom that opened in the late 1980s, but due to various technical and financial difficulties closed in the mid-nineties. The first was opened in Autumn 1989 on the outskirts of Dartford in Kent. The building contained six American-style water slides, a lazy river, wave pool, an outdoor heated lagoon as well as a cafe and gaming video arcade. Visible on the skyline from the nearby M25 motorway the building dominated the local landscape and became quite an icon of the town.

Hangzhou Bay Sunac Tourism City is an under construction theme park and entertainment complex in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, China; approximately 45 miles from downtown Shanghai. The project was announced by the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation in 2015 as part of the company's bid to open a multitude of parks in China. In February 2020, Six Flags dropped out on the project after their partner Riverside Investment Group encountered financial turmoil and were unable to pay their debts. In June 2020, Sunac China Holdings took over the project and had the Sunac Water Park opened in June 2021. The complex is expected to open in stages – with the rebranded Sunac Land theme park due to open in late 2022 – and be completed by 2025. However, due to construction delays, it is uncertain if the park will open or continue on with construction.
