The Wilson Pickers is a country blues band formed in 2008 and comprises three Queenslanders, Ben Salter, Danny Widdicombe, Andrew Morris, and two Victorians, Sime Nugent and John Bedggood. [1]

Their 2008 album, Land of the Powerful Owl, earned them a nomination for an ARIA Award for Best Blues & Roots Album and their 2010 album, Shake It Down, earned them second.

Gyan Evans, who performs as Gyan, is an Australian singer-songwriter and record producer. She began her musical career in the Sydney band Haiku before winning the 1986 grand final in the local version of the TV talent quest Star Search. This led to a recording contract with Warner Music, which resulted in her October 1989 debut self-titled album. It peaked in the top 30 on the ARIA Albums Chart and provided "Wait", which reached the top 20 on the ARIA Singles Chart. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1990 she won the ARIA Award for Best New Talent.

Andrew Morris is a musician from Brisbane, Queensland. He is a former member of Palladium and is part of The Wilson Pickers, performs in a duo with Danny Widdicombe and has a solo career. In 2008 he won the Grant McLennan Memorial Scholarship.

Sarah McKenzie is an Australian jazz musician. She is a singer, pianist, composer, and arranger. Her album Close Your Eyes won the 2012 ARIA Music Award for Best Jazz Album. She was also nominated for the same award in 2011 with Don't Tempt Me and in 2015 for We Could Be Lovers. We Could Be Lovers won an Australian Jazz Bell Award in 2015 for Best Australian Jazz Vocal Album.

Simon Joe "Sime" Nugent is an Australian multi-instrumentalist-songwriter, sculptor and visual artist. He has worked in various groups including country music five-piece the Wilson Pickers and as a solo artist. Nugent is also a furniture maker.
