Their / They're / There is an indie rock band from Chicago, Illinois. All three members are prominent figures in the Chicago indie scene, having each been a part of numerous noteworthy projects based in the area. The group released their first two EPs, Their / They're / There and Analog Weekend in 2013, before taking a lengthy hiatus.
Evan Weiss first met Mike Kinsella when Kinsella asked Weiss to play as a supporting act at his record release show for the Owen album Ghost Town on November 11, 2011, at the Beat Kitchen in Roscoe Village, [1] [2] the location of Their / They're / There's second show. [3] "About a month later," Weiss was approached by his friend Matthew Frank about starting a new band. [1] Weiss initially expressed interest in forming the group in order to play bass again, as he had previously done in his early bands such as The Progress. [1] Some time later, at the suggestion of Weiss, [1] Frank approached Kinsella in the audience of one of Weiss' sets, asking him to join the group. [4] Kinsella initially joined under the incorrect assumption that Weiss would be playing guitar and writing songs while Frank would be playing bass, though he later stated that "it turns out that he's [Frank], like, way better than me and Evan at the guitar." [4] The recruiting of Kinsella marked the first time he had played drums as an official member in a band since Owls' breakup in 2002. [1] [5] The band was first announced in mid-2012 with the creation of a Facebook page revealing only the initials of each member in the page's description. [5] After some speculation, the band revealed their lineup on September 9 of that year by posting "cat is out of the bag. evan weiss. mike kinsella. matthew frank. [ sic ]" [6] Weiss denies the labeling of the band as a "supergroup", reasoning that "nobody starts a band because they want to have hype built around it." [1]
Their / They're / There released their self-titled debut EP on April 20, 2013 (Record Store Day) through Polyvinyl Record Co., on which Kinsella's project Owen is signed. The release was followed by a short stint of two shows in Chicago and one in Lawrence, Kansas. [3] Their first show was at Reckless Records in Wicker Park on the day of the debut EP's release. [3] The band continues to play shows regularly in the US, especially during December 2013 while on a five-date tour with Mansions and Birthmark. Their / They're / There also toured Japan across October and November alongside Weiss's Into It. Over It. and Kinsella's Owen. [7] They recorded their second EP, Analog Weekend, during the summer of that year "directly to tape" with producer Ed Rose. [8] Analog Weekend was released on December 10 as a joint venture between Polyvinyl and Topshelf Records [9] with a cassette release from Polyvinyl collecting the band's first two EPs, entitled T / T / T, released on the same day. In April 2014, Kinsella revealed that "Evan and Matt just started working on the first [Their / They're / There] full-length like a week or two ago. Those guys are going to get the skeletons of a few songs and then we'll start practicing." Weiss stated in August 2014 that Their / They're / There are "definitely planning" to release a full-length album, although the members have "all been kind of busy with other things", further elaborating that "we want to do more with the band, it's just it's such a casual thing and I think if it became un-casual that it would lose its charm and why we kind of all enjoy doing it." [11] Throughout 2014 and 2015, indications of continuing work on a Their / They're / There album were made through social media: Frank sporadically posted video clips of song ideas on the band's Facebook page, [12] [13] and Weiss posted a photo of Frank working on the Their / They're / There album to his Instagram profile. [14] In a 2016 Reddit AMA, Weiss said of the prospect of a new Their / They're / There album "no more ttt right now, unfortunately. all super busy. [ sic ]" [15] and "plans changed! not right now. maybe one day! [ sic ]" [16]
During a Twitter AMA, Weiss announced new material to be released in 2022, with Jared Karns of Kiss Kiss taking over drum duties from Mike Kinsella. [17] Following this, on October 21 of the same year, their debut album, Their / They're / Three was released, [18] with a support slot on part of Covet's late fall Rebirth tour. [19]

Joan of Arc was an American indie rock band from Chicago, Illinois named after the French saint Joan of Arc. They formed in 1995, following the breakup of Cap'n Jazz.
The American Analog Set is an Austin-based indie rock, lo-fi band. They have released seven studio albums, on the record labels Emperor Jones, Tiger Style Records, and Arts & Crafts. On October 27, 2023, they released For Forever, their first album of new material since 2005. On February 9, 2024, The Numero Group released the New Drifters box set, containing the bands first 3 albums and 2 albums worth of unreleased demos, b-sides and outtakes. On April 10, 2024, The Numero Group announced on their Instagram that they were working on a boxset with the Tiger Style era material.
The Red Hot Valentines were a power pop band from Champaign, Illinois. They formed in 1999, with Jeff Johnson, Tobin Kirk, David Gerkin, Eric Humbert (drums), and Jason Searby (keyboards). They released two full-length albums and three EPs. Jason Searby left the band in 2001 for college shortly after recording their first album, and was replaced by Tyson Markley of The Amazing Kill-O-Watts,(as well as MANDROID destroyers of the human race, Analog Saves the Planet, and Tyson & the Friction) who left the band in 2003 to raise his kids. The band went on without a keyboardist, and started to go in a new musical direction, as they were tired of playing the catchy pop that they had been known and loved for. By the end of 2004, they had broken up. Their last show was on November 20, 2004. Jeff Johnson and Tobin Kirk each got married and moved away from the band's central Illinois homeland. Eric has since gone on tour with Fall Out Boy as a drum tech and is currently playing with the band EndeverafteR.
Owen is the primary solo project of American indie rock and emo musician Mike Kinsella. The project features soft melodies and complex acoustics, combining acoustic guitar with keyboard, other guitars, vocals, and drums.
Owls are an indie rock band from Chicago, Illinois. They were initially active from 2001 to 2002 and reunited in 2012. The band is composed of the original lineup of the emo band Cap'n Jazz excluding guitarist Davey von Bohlen, who had left to form The Promise Ring. The lineup has included brothers Tim Kinsella and Mike Kinsella, guitarist Victor Villareal and bassist Sam Zurick. Tim Kinsella and Zurick have also played together in Joan of Arc and Make Believe. Villarreal and Zurick played together in the instrumental rock group Ghosts and Vodka. The band signed to Jade Tree on May 3, 2001, and released their debut on July 31.

Make Believe was an indie rock band, initially formed in Chicago, Illinois in 2003 as a touring version of Joan of Arc. The band was composed of lead vocalist Tim Kinsella, guitarist Sam Zurick, bassist Bobby Burg, and drummer/keyboardist Nate Kinsella. After 3 months of touring as Joan of Arc, the quartet returned home and decided to begin writing new songs with a more aggressive approach. Following a self-titled 5 track EP, their first full-length Shock of Being was released on October 4, 2005, followed by Of Course in 2006.

Last Chance to Reason is an American progressive metal band from Augusta, Maine. Their debut album, Lvl. 1, was released through Tribunal Records in 2007. Their first major label debut, Level 2, came in 2011 through Prosthetic Records. The band's third studio album, Level 3, was released on August 6, 2013.
The Seaside EP is a rarities release by Chicago artist Owen. It was released on July 7, 2009 by Polyvinyl Records digitally and as a CD. The album was said to ship on June 26, 2009, but was sent out a week earlier as Polyvinyl received them. The EP's cover art was designed by UK illustrator David Blanco. The majority of songs can all be found on Japanese Owen releases, and the last track is from a compilation 2x7". It was re-released on vinyl on Record Store Day 2013.

It was recorded shortly after the band released their debut self-titled EP through Polyvinyl in October 1998. The group, consisting of vocalist/guitarist Mike Kinsella, guitarist Steve Holmes, and drummer Steve Lamos, recorded their debut album at Private Studios in Urbana, Illinois, with production from Brendan Gamble.

Owen/Into It. Over It. Split EP is a split album between Owen and Into It. Over It. This split features an original song from each band, as well as each band covering a song from the opposite artist. Into It. Over It. covers "Poor Souls," which can be found on Owen's 2002 full-length No Good For No One Now, and recreates it into an even more soft and sad song. Owen's cover of "Anchor," from Into It. Over It.'s album 52 Weeks, brings out a punky edge.
American Football is the eponymous second studio album by American rock band American Football, released on October 21, 2016 through Polyvinyl. It was the band's first release since their debut self-titled album American Football in September 1999 and disbandment in 2000. In April 2014, American Football announced they would be reforming after fifteen years for a number of live performances, playing shows through the year and into 2015. In early 2016, American Football began recording the second album with Jason Cupp at ARC Studios in Omaha, Nebraska, and at SHIRK Studios in Chicago, Illinois.
Made in Timeland is the nineteenth studio album by Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, released on 5 March 2022 on Flightless in Australia, and ATO in the U.S. Produced by Stu Mackenzie, the album consists of two fifteen-minute-long tracks, each taking one side of the record.
