On September 26, 2007, the band posted a bulletin from their MySpace profile with the following regarding the album:
"Ever done something you regret while drunk? I know, I know… so embarrassing right? Ever woken up and rubbed your pounding skull and said, “What did I do last night?” Oh man…you should have seen yourself… first… you got totally blitzed and then… then… this is the best part… YOU RECORDED A LIVE RECORD! That’s right, back in January, NOFX booked 3 nights of talking mixed with the occasional song at Slim’s in San Francisco and recorded a live record. It’s their sloppiest, drunkest, funniest, best sounding recording ever with new versions of old songs, rare songs and they even made sure not to play any songs off their 1995 live album I Heard They Suck Live!!. They’ve Actually Gotten Worse Live is scheduled to make the walk of shame into record stores sometime in November."
On October 3, 2007 the band released the track listing for the album, which includes rarities and alternate versions of previously released songs. On November 12, the band released previews of two songs, "You're Wrong" and "Lori Meyers," for download on their MySpace profile.
Also in "Franco Un-American", Fat Mike adds an extra verse over the bridge, directly criticizing George W. Bush. The verse is similar to the verse he sang when the band played the song on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. The verse added in this song is as follows, "We all know George Bush is an imbecile, he loves Dick, but he hates homosexuals. I'm sick and tired, of the embarrassment, the whole world wants us to kill our fucking (scratch)."
In "What's The Matter With Parents Today?", Fat Mike changes the line "having sex publicly" to "having sex anally." The line "I thought the apple fell far from the tree" is changed to "The asshole fell far from the tree," and "On the couch, with my Misfits records out" is changed to "On the lawn, with My Chemical Romance on."
The lyrics to "New Happy Birthday Song?" were almost completely different, due to Fat Mike dedicating the song, along with its newly disparaging remarks, to a woman in the audience who very loudly wished herself a happy birthday.
The intro to "Murder the Government" was modified to make disparaging references to Dick Cheney, and Jenna, Barbara, and George W. Bush.
The last few lines of "The Longest Line" are changed to "Do you have the time/To listen to me whine?", a line from Green Day's "Basket Case" which has a similar chord progression.
In "Whoops I OD'd," the line "Assholes like to test the limit" is changed to "Golfers like to test the limit" in reference to an incident where a friend of the band's OD'd on a golf course on the morning of the show.
"The Longest Line" verse "This world is much too dangerous for someone lacking luck like me" changed to "This world is much too dangerous for someone who's as drunk as me"
The album received generally good reviews that praised the band's humorous performance. However, the album was universally criticized for fading out "The Decline" instead of playing the whole song.[3][4]

NOFX is an American punk rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1983. Vocalist/bassist Fat Mike, guitarist Eric Melvin and drummer Erik Sandin are original founding and longest-serving members of the band, who have appeared on every release of the band, although Sandin departed briefly in 1985, only to rejoin the following year. El Hefe joined the band in 1991 to play lead guitar and trumpet, rounding out the current line-up.

Liberal Animation is the debut album by the American punk rock band NOFX. It was originally released in 1988 through Wassail Records, which was Fat Mike's label before Fat Wreck Chords. It was re-released through Epitaph Records in 1991 with all new artwork. The title is a spoonerism of "animal liberation" and the cover artwork is a reflection of that. Bassist/Singer, Fat Mike has stated many times that he thinks it's the worst NOFX album. He wrote the majority of the album on a guitar he bought from Lynn Strait of Snot. The track "Shut Up Already" features a short cover of the Led Zeppelin song "Black Dog". It is the only full length album by NOFX to feature Dave Cassilas on guitar. Amateur style music videos were made for the tracks "Shut Up Already" and "Mr. Jones."
White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean is the fourth studio album by the American punk rock band NOFX. It was released on November 5, 1992, through Epitaph Records. It is the first NOFX album to feature El Hefe on guitar, replacing Steve Kidwiller, who left the band in 1991. White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean was also the first NOFX album not produced by Brett Gurewitz, who produced the band's first three albums. According to the liner notes for the album, the original title was going to be White Trash, Two Kikes and a Spic, but one of the band members' family members thought it was offensive, so they changed it to the title of the actual release. The title is a reference to the eclectic ethnic identities of the band members: white "trash", two Jews, and a Hispanic man.
I Heard They Suck Live!! is a live album by NOFX. It was recorded January 8 and 9, 1995, at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood. At time of release, the name or exact location of the club was not disclosed for royalty reasons. The location was later revealed on the band's website.

Despite the title, it is not actually an EP; it is a compilation of songs from 1987 to 2009, plus rarities, out of print material and previously unreleased outtakes. The Longest EP has been referred to as a "sequel" to NOFX's 2002 compilation album 45 or 46 Songs That Weren't Good Enough to Go on Our Other Records. Stoke Extinguisher is an EP by NOFX released on November 26, 2013 through Fat Wreck Chords. The EP was released as a six-song CD and a two-song 7". Both versions feature the new title song, "Stoke Extinguisher", as well as "The Shortest Pier", which was originally by Tony Sly and was recorded for The Songs of Tony Sly: A Tribute. The rest of the songs on the CD are b-sides collected from singles from the band's recent album, Self Entitled, although it does not include the alternate version of "She Didn't Lose Her Baby", the b-side from the "My Stepdad's a Cop and My Stepmom's a Domme" 7". The cover was hand painted by Jason Cruz of Strung Out.
Ribbed: Live in a Dive is an album by American punk band NOFX; it is the band's third live album and the eighth installment of their Live in a Dive series. Released on August 3, 2018 by Fat Wreck Chords, the album is a live presentation of their songs from the 1991 studio album Ribbed. The album was recorded in 2012 from their concert at the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles.
