Thuppakki (transl. Gun) is the soundtrack album, composed by Harris Jayaraj for the 2012 Indian film of the same name.
Thuppakki is Harris Jayaraj's third collaboration with director AR Murugadoss. [1] The soundtrack album consists of seven tracks. The lyrics were written by Pa. Vijay, Na. Muthukumar, Viveka and Madhan Karky, who have written over 35 pallavis for one of the songs. [2] [3] Vijay, seven years after his last attempt at playback singing, [4] and Andrea Jeremiah lent their voices for the track "Google Google", a party number. [5] Though Harris Jayaraj had announced in August that Thuppakki's music launch would take place the following month, [6] the audio was eventually released on 10 October 2012, at the Park Sheraton Hotel in Chennai. [7]
The album received generally positive reviews from critics. Sify wrote: "Overall, it is a classy and refreshing album". [8] Pavithra Srinivasan of Rediff claimed that the music had "nothing new to offer" and that "except Google Google and the mildly melodious Poi Varavaa, the rest are all oft-heard, and seem a mish-mash of his (Jayaraj's) earlier tunes". [9] Top10cinema stated, that each of the songs was "bursting out like a cannon shot". [10] Behindwoods gave it 3.5 out of 5 stars and mentioned: "Overall it’s a good album with tracks that you can trust Vijay to add a lot of weight to with his dancing skills". [5] Indiaglitz gave a 3.5 out of 5 star rating, but cited: "Lots of ammo getting packed, but needs to fire better". [11]

Harris Jayaraj is an Indian composer from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is best known for his melodies. He composes soundtracks predominantly for Tamil films, while also having composed for a few films in Telugu and two films in Hindi.
Dharan Kumar is an Indian music composer, who mainly produces film scores and soundtracks in the Tamil film industry. He made his film debut Parijatham, featuring the hit single "Unnai Kandene". He credits director and actor K. Bhagyaraj as his guru.
Ayan (transl. Creator) is a 2009 Indian Tamil-language action film co-written and directed by K. V. Anand. The film, starring Suriya, Prabhu, Tamannaah, Akashdeep Saighal, Jagan, and Karunas, was produced by M. Saravanan, M. S. Guhan, Aruna Guhan and Aparna Guhan and distributed by Sun Pictures. The film score and soundtrack was composed by Harris Jayaraj, edited by Anthony Gonsalvez, the film was filmed by M. S. Prabhu.
Aadhavan (transl. Sun) is a 2009 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film directed by K. S. Ravikumar and written by Ramesh Khanna. The film features Suriya and Nayantara, with Vadivelu, Bharath Murali, B. Saroja Devi, Rahul Dev, Sayaji Shinde, Anand Babu in supporting cast. The music was composed by Harris Jayaraj.
Engeyum Kadhal is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language romance comedy film written and directed by Prabhu Deva that stars Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani. Featuring music by Harris Jayaraj, it was produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram and released on 6 May 2011 to mixed reviews but became a box office hit. The story revolves around a girl living in France who falls in love with a boy coming from India. According to Upperstall.com the film "seems to be a straight rip off from Billy Wilder's Love in the Afternoon starring Gary Cooper and Audrey Hepburn, made way back in 1957".
Krishna Iyer is a Tamil cinema "Indian playback singer" from Chennai, India who performs Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu songs. His rendition of "En Uchi Mandaila" from the Illayathalapathi film Vettaikaran, composed by Vijay Antony and starring Vijay, topped the music charts for many weeks in 2009. His first entry into the Tamil music industry was through the movie Kanthaswamy, starring Chiyaan Vikram. Krishna rendered the rap portion of the song "En Peru Meenakumari," scored by Devi Sri Prasad. He has several night shows and TV programs to his credit. Krishna Iyer has performed in several live shows internationally. His most recent singing credits include Harris Jayaraj's "Google Google" from Thuppakki, which he sang along with actor Vijay. A recent song, "Yaelae Yaelae Dosthu Da" for Harris Jayaraj, from the movie Endrendrum Punnagai, topped the iTunes India chart for some time. He has worked with music directors Vijay Antony, Harris Jayaraj, Gv Prakash, Prasan Praveen Shyam, Selvanagesh, Shankar Mahadevan, Drummer Sivamani, Gopi Sundar, and Devi Sri Prasad.
Nanban (transl. Friend) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by Shankar. It is a remake of Rajkumar Hirani's Hindi film 3 Idiots (2009). The film features an ensemble cast that includes Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana D'Cruz, Sathyaraj and Sathyan.
Maattrraan (transl. Alternate) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film co-written and directed by K. V. Anand and produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram, S. Ganesh and S. Suresh under the banner AGS Entertainment. It stars Suriya in dual roles, along with Kajal Aggarwal in the female lead while Sachin Khedekar, Tara and others play supporting roles. The dialogues were penned by the duo Suresh and Balakrishnan. The film features music composed by Harris Jayaraj, cinematography handled by Soundararajan, editing done by Anthony, respectively. V. Srinivas Mohan, handled the visual effects.
Enamo Aedho is a song from the 2011 Tamil film Ko, composed by Harris Jayaraj. The song was performed by Aalap Raju, Prashanthini, Sricharan, Emcee Jesz, with lyrics written by Madhan Karky, Sricharan, Emcee Jesz. The song was released as part of the soundtrack album of the film on 12 January 2011. The song, which has also been referred to as Kuviyamilla by the media, was initially released with a thirty-second teaser trailer of the film in 5 November 2010, coinciding with Diwali to positive response. The song topped the Tamil music charts for months and was honored with the Vijay Award for Favourite Song, the Mirchi Music Award for Best Song and the Vijay Music Award for Most Popular Song in 2011. The singer of the song, Aalap Raju, won many awards for his playback singing, most notably being the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer – Tamil.

Yennai Arindhaal is the soundtrack album for the 2015 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film of the same name, co-written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring Ajith Kumar, Arun Vijay, Anushka Shetty, Trisha, Parvathy Nair and Vivek in the lead roles, while Anikha, Ashish Vidyarthi, Suman and Avinash playing the pivotal roles. Prior to the soundtrack release, a single track, titled "Adhaaru Adhaaru" from the film was released on 11 December 2014, and the complete soundtrack album in its entirety was released on 1 January 2015, coinciding with the New Year's Day and met with a positive critical reception, from critics and music listeners praising Harris Jayaraj's musicianship, and the good composition for an Ajith-starrer film, and also its contribution for Gautham's reunion after Vaaranam Aayiram (2008).
Anegan is the soundtrack album for the 2015 film of the same name, starring Dhanush and directed by K. V. Anand. For the film's soundtrack and score, Anand, roped in his regular collaborator Harris Jayaraj, to compose the music, thus marking Harris' first and only collaboration with Dhanush. The soundtrack album features six tracks, written by Vairamuthu, Kabilan Vairamuthu, Rokesh and C. S. Amudhan. The album was released by Sony Music on 2 November 2014.
Vaaranam Aayiram is the soundtrack album for the 2008 film of the same name directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, and features music by Harris Jayaraj, following four successive soundtracks with the director. The album was under production from one-and-a-half years and featured seven songs written by Thamarai and Na. Muthukumar. The album was distributed by Sony BMG and released on 24 September 2008. The soundtrack for the Telugu dubbed version titled Surya S/o Krishnan featured lyrics by Veturi and was released on 30 October 2008.
Anniyan is the soundtrack album composed by Harris Jayaraj for the 2005 Indian Tamil film of the same name directed by S. Shankar. It eventually marked Harris' maiden collaboration, replacing his usual music director A. R. Rahman, who worked for his previous ventures as Rahman was busy with the production of the international musicals Bombay Dreams and Lord of the Rings. Harris Jayaraj began working on the soundtrack in early 2004 and completed within April 2005. But the re-recording of the soundtrack and score which began on the same month took place for more than 45 days, which resulted in delaying the film's release till 17 June 2005.
Mersal is the soundtrack of the 2017 Tamil action film of the same name directed by Atlee, which stars Vijay in a triple role with Nithya Menen, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha as the female leads. The film, which marked the 100th production of Thenandal Studio Limited, has a soundtrack album features four tracks composed by A. R. Rahman, in his first film with Atlee and his third film with Vijay after composing for Udhaya (2004) and Azhagiya Tamizh Magan (2007), whilst Vivek penned the lyrics for all the songs in the film's soundtrack, also in his first association with Rahman.
