Thuppakki (English: The Gun) is the soundtrack album, composed by Harris Jayaraj for the 2012 Indian film of the same name.
Thuppakki is Harris Jayaraj's third collaboration with director AR Murugadoss.The soundtrack album consists of seven tracks. The lyrics were written by Pa. Vijay, Na. Muthukumar, Viveka and Madhan Karky, who have written over 35 pallavis for one of the songs. Vijay, seven years after his last attempt at playback singing, and Andrea Jeremiah lent their voices for the track "Google Google", a party number. Though Harris Jayaraj had announced in August that Thuppakki's music launch would take place the following month, the audio was eventually released on 10 October 2012, at the Park Sheraton Hotel in Chennai.
The album received generally positive reviews from critics. Sify wrote: "Overall, it is a classy and refreshing album".Pavithra Srinivasan of Rediff claimed that the music had "nothing new to offer" and that "except Google Google and the mildly melodious Poi Varavaa, the rest are all oft-heard, and seem a mish-mash of his (Jayaraj's) earlier tunes". Top10cinema stated, that each of the songs was "bursting out like a cannon shot". Behindwoods gave it 3.5 out of 5 stars and mentioned: "Overall it’s a good album with tracks that you can trust Vijay to add a lot of weight to with his dancing skills". Indiaglitz gave a 3.5 out of 5 star rating, but cited: "Lots of ammo getting packed, but needs to fire better".

Yuvan Shankar Raja is an Indian film score and soundtrack composer and singer-songwriter. He predominantly scores music for Tamil films. Considered a versatile composer, he is particularly known for his use of Western music elements and often credited with having introduced hip hop to the Tamil film and music industry and started the "era of remixes" in Tamil Nadu. Yuvan has won two Filmfare Awards, four Vijay Awards and three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. His notable works have led him the honorific nickname "Youth Icon".
Bheemaa is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by N. Linguswamy, and produced by A. M. Rathnam. It stars Vikram, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Raghuvaran, and Ashish Vidyarthi. The film score and soundtrack was composed by Harris Jayaraj; whilst the cinematography was handled R. D. Rajasekhar, and edited by Anthony. After two years of production delays, the film was released on 14 January 2008, to mixed reviews. The film was dubbed into Telugu under the same name, and later it was dubbed in Hindi as Vachanbadh in 2012. It was remade in Bengali as Vikram.

In 2019, he was bestowed with the Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute Honorary Doctorate of Letters for his significant contributions to Tamil cinema music.

The story revolves around a girl living in France who falls in love with a boy coming from India. According to Upperstall.com the film "seems to be a straight rip off from Billy Wilder's Love in the Afternoon starring Gary Cooper and Audrey Hepburn, made way back in 1957".
Krishna Iyer is a Tamil cinema "Kollywood" playback singer from Chennai, India. A singer and performer, a complete entertainer who has got the innate ability to enthrall the audience and make them engaged throughout the show. Performs Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu songs. His rendition of "En Uchi Mandaila" from the Illayathalapathi film Vettaikaran, composed by Vijay Antony and starring Vijay, topped the music charts for many weeks in 2009. 7aum Arivu is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language science fiction martial arts film written and directed by AR Murugadoss, featuring Suriya and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles and Johnny Tri Nguyen as the main antagonist. The film, produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin began production in May 2010 and was released on 25 October 2011 in Chennai and a day later, on Diwali, worldwide. The visual effects for the film were done by US based Legacy Effects, making this their second Indian film after Enthiran.

Oru Kal Oru Kannadi abbreviated as OKOK is a 2012 Tamil romantic comedy film written and directed by M. Rajesh. It stars producer Udhayanidhi Stalin, in his acting debut, Hansika Motwani and Santhanam, whilst featuring Harris Jayaraj's music and Balasubramaniem's cinematography. The film was named after a song from the film Siva Manasula Sakthi (2009). Releasing on 13 April 2012, it opened to highly positive reviews and became a Blockbuster.The film ran for 175 days in theatres. It was eventually released in Telugu as OK OK on 31 August 2012.

The soundtrack album composed by Harris Jayaraj, consists of seven tracks, with six tracks written by Thamarai and one song was written by Vignesh Shivan. Harris Jayaraj, for the first time he is composing for an Ajith Kumar-starrer film. The audio rights of the soundtrack album were marketed and purchased by Sony Music. Prior to the soundtrack release, a single track, titled "Adhaaru Adhaaru" from the film was released on 11 December 2014, and the complete soundtrack album in its entirety was released on 1 January 2015, coinciding with the New Year's Day and met with a positive critical reception, from critics and music listeners praising Harris Jayaraj's musicianship, and the good composition for an Ajith-starrer film, and also its contribution for Gautham's reunion after Vaaranam Aayiram (2008).
