It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Bhanumathi, and Relangi with music composed by S. Rajeswara Rao. The film is based on the life of Tamil Vaishnava saint Vipranarayana. He led his life in devotion to Lord Narayana and worked for the Lord by dedicating him with garlands. He is one of the twelve Alvars. The film is also dubbed in Tamil with the same title and released in 1955.

Madhusudhana Rao produced the film under Annapurna Pictures. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Savitri with music composed by Master Venu. The film is based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's Bengali novel Nishkriti, and was simultaneously made as the Tamil film Engal Veettu Mahalakshmi (1957); both films were made simultaneously by the same banner and director, and some of the scenes and artists are the same in both versions. Thodi Kodallu won the Certificate of merit for Best Feature Film in Telugu.

Bhanumathi wrote the story, for the first time.
Kanna Talli is a 1953 Indian Telugu-language drama film, produced and directed by K. S. Prakash Rao under the Prakash Studios banner. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, G. Varalakshmi with music composed by Pendyala Nageshwara Rao. The film is the debut of Telugu popular singer P. Suseela and actress Rajasulochana into the film industry. Kanna Talli bears some resemblance to Mehboob Khan's Aurat (1940) but is a different story than the former. The film was simultaneously shot in Tamil as Petra Thai. Dialogues were penned by S. A. Subbaraman.
Penupatruni Adinarayana Rao was an Indian music director, film producer, lyricist and play writer. He co-founded "Aswini Pictures" with Akkineni Nageswara Rao and produced some movies in Telugu and Tamil. Later, he produced several blockbuster Telugu films under his own production house, Anjali Pictures, named after his actress wife, Anjali Devi. He also composed and produced music for several Tamil and Hindi films.
Paradesi or Poongothai is a 1953 Indian Tamil -Telugu bilingual romance film, produced by P. Adinarayana Rao under the Anjali pictures banner and directed by L. V. Prasad. It stars Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Anjali Devi, and music also composed by P. Adinarayana Rao. The film is a remake of the Hindi movie Raj Rani (1950). No print of Poongothai is known to survive, making it a lost film.
Nayakudu Vinayakudu is a 1980 Indian Telugu-language film, produced by A. V. Subba Rao under the Prasad Art Productions banner and directed by K. Pratyagatma. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Jayalalitha and music composed by T. Chalapathi Rao. Notably, this marked Jayalalithaa's last proper film in her acting career as it got released just a few weeks after her last Tamil film, Nadhiyai Thedi Vandha Kadal. It was the last film for which the actress-politician had worked as a lead heroine before entering official politics; and also her last film in Telugu as well. It was the highest-grossing Telugu film of 1980.
