Timothy Lawrence Cutler (born 23 March 1982) is an Australian cricket administrator and cricketer who plays international cricket for the Vanuatu national team. [1] He is a right-handed batter as well as slow left-arm orthodox bowler who had played cricket before for the Hong Kong Cricket Club in the Hong Kong domestic cricket competitions. [2] He is the founder of Emerging Cricket,which he established in late 2018. [3] [4] [5]
Cutler initially pursued his career in marine insurance straightaway after finishing his high school education. [6] He moved to Hong Kong in 2013 after spending a brief period of time in marine insurance in Brisbane. [7]
Cutler was named as the first CEO of Hong Kong Cricket Association in 2014 but it took a long process before being appointed to the position in May 2015,tasked with making Hong Kong cricket a shining light among the associates and building bridges with the government as well as the International Cricket Council. [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] He served as CEO of Hong Kong Cricket Association from 2015 to 2017 and during his tenure Hong Kong T20 Blitz was launched. In late 2018,Cutler formed a WhatsApp group chat with Daniel Beswick and Nick Skinner regarding to develop the sport of cricket to other parts of the world and launched the Emerging Cricket platform. [17]
In March 2021,he was appointed as the CEO of Vanuatu Cricket Association replacing Shane Deitz and he was expected to commence his term as CEO from mid-April 2021. [18] [19] [20]
In February 2024,Cutler was named in Vanuatu's squad for the 2024 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Play-off in Malaysia. [21] He made his List A debut on 22 February 2024,against Bahrain. [22] He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against Tanzania on 5 March 2024,during the 2024 Malaysia Open T20 Championship. [23]

The 2022 Asia Cup Qualification was a men's cricket tournament which took place in Oman in August 2022 to determine qualification for the 2022 Asia Cup. The 2020 editions of the ACC Western and Eastern regional T20 tournaments were held in February and March of the same year by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Thirteen teams competed,with the aim of progressing to the qualifier. These were scheduled to be followed by the Asia Cup Qualifier tournament in Malaysia,which was due to be played in August 2020. However,in July 2020 the Asia Cup was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic,resulting in the postponement of the qualifier. In May 2021,the Asian Cricket Council confirmed that there would be no Asia Cup in 2021,with that edition of the tournament deferred until 2023. It was later announced that there would be a T20I Asia Cup in 2022,to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates.
The 2024 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Play-off was a cricket tournament that took place in February and March 2024,to decide the final four places in the Cricket World Cup Challenge League for the next World Cup cycle. It featured the bottom four teams from the 2019–2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League along with an additional four sides who did not participate in the 2019–2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League and met the requirements. The eight teams were placed into two groups of four,with the top three teams from each group to advance to the Super Six stage. The best four sides emerging from the Challenge League Play-off competition qualified for the twelve-team World Cup Challenge League field for the next cycle.

The 2024 Malaysia Open T20 Championship was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that took place in Malaysia in March 2024. The tournament was contested by the men's national teams of Malaysia,Bahrain,Kuwait,Tanzania and Vanuatu. All five teams remained in Malaysia to play in this T20I tournament after taking part in the 2024 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Play-off competition.
