Timothy Gettinger (born April 14, 1998) is an American professional ice hockey forward for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the New York Rangers in the fifth round, 141st overall, in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. [1] He had served as captain for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
Gettinger first played midget hockey in Cleveland with the Barons. In his first season with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in the 2014–15 season, Gettinger scored 10 goals. In the second season with the Greyhounds, his totals improved to 17 goals and 39 points in 60 games for the 2015–16 season.
On June 24, 2016, Gettinger was selected 141st overall by the New York Rangers during the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Gettinger entered the draft as the 65th ranked prospect. [2]
On March 16, 2017, the Rangers signed Gettinger to a three-year, entry-level contract. [3]
On October 12, 2017, Gettinger was named captain of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. [4]
Gettinger began the 2018–19 season with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL). He was recalled by the Rangers due to an injury to forward Mats Zuccarello on November 23, 2018, and played his first NHL game the next day with the Rangers. [5] [6] He was returned to Harford after playing one game, [7] only to be recalled the next day. [8]
On July 22, 2022, Gettinger was re-signed to a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Rangers for the 2022–23 season. He recorded 13 goals and 22 assists in 52 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL. [9]
On July 1, 2023, Gettinger signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Detroit Red Wings. [10] On March 11, 2024, the Red Wings re-signed Gettinger to a one-year, two-way contract extension. [11]

Jacob Muzzin is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who played 12 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Los Angeles Kings and Toronto Maple Leafs. Originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Muzzin went unsigned and returned to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) as an overage player. There he served as team captain and won the Max Kaminsky Trophy as the top defenceman in the OHL. As a free agent, Muzzin signed with the Kings in 2010, winning a Stanley Cup with the team in 2014. Muzzin was traded to Toronto during the 2018–19 season, where he played parts of five seasons. After a spinal injury suffered in 2022 resulted in his placement on long-term injured reserve, Muzzin joined the Maple Leafs' front office as a professional scout in 2023.
