Timothy Job Gosling (born 23 August 1966) is a British furniture designer based in London. The Sunday Times has described him as "designer to the rich and famous". [1]
Gosling was born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1966. His father was scientist Raymond Gosling. [2] Gosling studied Theatre Design at Central St Martins School of Art and Design, London graduating in 1987 then designed theatre designs for John Napier and Sir Cameron Mackintosh. He started his career designing furniture in 1990 with Viscount Linley, the son of Princess Margaret, becoming Senior Design Director in 1993. [3]
In 2005, Gosling formed Gosling Ltd, designing bespoke Furniture and combining traditional materials, craftsmanship with technology and contemporary interpretations of historical designs. [4] Furniture identifiable by contemporary reworking of classical proportions, inlaid woods, gilding, verre eglomise and straw marquetry combined with more contemporary materials such as acrylic. According to Gosling the furniture is based on the best materials, exquisite quality of craftsmanship and integrity of design. He is quoted as declaring that "Minimalism is lost on me I am afraid." Gosling Marine established in 2013 designing Art Deco inspired Super Yacht carbon fibre deck furniture, and, in 2013, a range for The Rug Company based on Art Deco designs. [7] See also: Super Yachts design and Carbon Fibre Furniture
Public examples of interior design include the Goring Hotel [8] [9] (following on from the Swarovski chandeliered Dining Room that he designed with David Linley in 2005) to also include the Drawing Room, Bar, Terrace as well as a selection of the Suites and the interior foyer areas of the listed 1930's Art Deco building Nell Gwynn House, Chelsea. He has also contributed interior design to the Savoy and Berkeley hotels in London.
Private examples include bespoke furniture and libraries for apartments, houses, Stately Homes, super yachts and corporate offices. Tim Gosling designed the private London home of Lord Browne of Madingley [10] [11] Gosling lectures and speaks on architectural interior design and furniture.
His work has been featured in the Financial Times on several occasions. [12] [13] [14] [15] [16] It was also featured in the books Spectacular Homes of London and Quintessentially Living, vol. 2. [17] [18]
He has been nominated for The International Product Design Award 2014 - Nomination for Bespoke Cabinetry,. [19] He exhibited a selection of architectural pencil drawings at The Halcyon Gallery, Bond Street, London in 2012. [20] He, together with colleague David Linley, designed a beechwood Tiara for the Tiaras : Crowned Heads and Coronets Exhibition in 2001 at the Victoria and Albert Museum. [21] [22]

Through styling and design of the exterior and interior of anything from large structures to small objects, including how people look, Art Deco has influenced bridges, buildings, ships, ocean liners, trains, cars, trucks, buses, furniture, and everyday objects like radios and vacuum cleaners.

She founded her own design firm Kelly Wearstler Interior Design in the mid-1990s, serving mainly the hotel industry, and now designs across high-end residential, commercial, retail and hospitality spaces. Maison Jansen was a Paris-based interior decoration office founded in 1880 by Dutch-born Jean-Henri Jansen. Jansen is considered the first truly global design firm, serving clients in Europe, Latin America, North America and the Middle East. This House was located at 23, rue de l'Annonciation, Paris, and closed in 1989.
Phocea was a sailing yacht that was built at Toulon, France, by DCAN in 1976. She is 246 feet long and can cruise at 12 knots. Like many yachts, she has undergone a number of refits, a major one having been in 2000 in Germany. She can handle 12 guests supported by a crew of 16 sailors. Phocea is a schooner with four masts. Phocea was originally built for speed, and she crossed the Atlantic in 8 days and achieved speeds of 30 knots under sail. The yacht has also been converted more for luxury and used on the charter market.

Mattia Bonetti is a Paris-based artist and designer. Bonetti was born in Lugano, Switzerland, and studied textile design at the Centro Scolastico per l’Industria Artistica. Bonetti moved from Switzerland to Paris, where he now lives and works. Prior to designing furniture, Bonetti worked as a stylist and photographer. In 1979 he began designing furniture. All of his work begins as a freehand sketch which is then fabricated. Bonetti has worked with the same fabricators for decades, employing craftsmen to make transform his drawings.
The word bespoke has evolved from a verb meaning 'to speak for something', to its contemporary usage as an adjective. Originally, the adjective bespoke described tailor-made suits and shoes. Later, it described anything commissioned to a particular specification. In contemporary usage, bespoke has become a general marketing and branding concept implying exclusivity and limited runs.
Meystyle LED wallpaper & Fabric is a London-based company who specialise in designing and manufacturing bespoke wallpaper with the added feature of integrated light-emitting diodes. The company was initiated in 2004 as a collaboration between sisters Maria and Ekaterina Yaschuk, both graduates of the Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design in London.

The Times says he is "a furniture designer and decorating mastermind" and also mentions his famous clients. Financial TimesHow To Spend It magazine said "his baroque-meets-pop art style is making grand statements in an ever-widening circle of homes." Living Etc magazine describes Sultana's style as "luxurious, bespoke-driven and sumptuous". In 2018 Sultana was made Ambassador of Culture for Malta. He was named as one of the Top 20 interior designers by Wallpaper magazine and Top 100 Interior Designers by House & Garden magazine. The Financial Times said of his first hotel project La Palma Hotel, Capri for Oetker Collection that it is "a glamorous new start for Capri's oldest hotel ". In 2021 Sultana became custodian of The Hunting Lodge, the former home of British interior designers John Fowler and Nicky Haslam. ". As well as running his own atelier, Sultana is also CEO of David Gill Gallery ".
