Time Will Wait for No One is the fifth studio album by American indie rock band Local Natives, released on July 7, 2023, by Loma Vista Recordings and Concord. It marks the first part of a "large body of music" by the band; a companion album, But I'll Wait for You , is set to release in 2024. [1] [2]
Local Natives worked on the album while they were enduring a "time of metamorphosis" as individuals. [3] On August 14, 2021, as they were halfway through creating their fifth album, the band performed at Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Their first live performance in almost two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the band called it "one of the most emotional concerts of our lives". It occurred as members were confronting parenthood, isolation, loss, and identity crisis. After the performance, the band felt unsure of their future and were "on the verge of a collapse". [4] [5] Experiencing their longest separation since they formed, the members were forced to redefine how to work together again. They worked toward developing deeper trust and honesty. As a result, the band found themselves in a prolific period where they wrote more music than they ever have before. [6] The album was recorded with producers John Congleton, Michael Harris and Danny Reisch. [7]
The band released the double single A-side single "Desert Snow" and "Hourglass" on July 22, 2022. [8] "Just Before the Morning" was released on October 12, 2022. [9] The album's lead single, "NYE", was released simultaneously with the album announcement on May 9, 2023. [10] "Paradise" was released as the final single on June 27, 2023. Writing for AllMusic, Matt Collar rated the album four out of five stars and wrote that the album's sound evoked "the sultry, post-hippie soul and soft rock of artists like Boz Scaggs and Robbie Dupree" with "a contemporary edge". [12]

David Gahan is an English singer, best known as the lead singer of electronic band Depeche Mode since their formation in 1980. Noted for his commanding stage presence and unique baritone voice, Q magazine ranked him at No. 73 on its list of the "100 Greatest Singers" and No. 27 on its list of the "100 Greatest Frontmen". As part of Depeche Mode, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
Spoon is an American rock band from Austin, Texas, consisting of members Britt Daniel, Jim Eno (drums), Alex Fischel, Gerardo Larios and Ben Trokan. Manchester Orchestra is an American indie rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, that formed in 2004. Hull is the band's only original member, having overseen every iteration of the band to date. "Points of Authority" is a song by American rock band Linkin Park. It is the fourth track on their first studio album, Hybrid Theory. The song was released in 2001 as a promo release. A CD single for the song was set to be released in the UK in September 2001, but instead, "Papercut" was released as the third single from the album. It was later planned as the fifth official single from the album, planned for a January 2002 release but was cancelled for unknown reasons. In its place, the song's remix version was released. Mike Shinoda's verses originally had different lyrics, and Chester Bennington's parts became no different from the Hybrid Theory version.
