Timor-Leste (or East Timor) competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, from 9 to 25 February 2018. The country's participation in Pyeongchang marked its second appearance in the Winter Olympics after its debut in the previous Games.
Timor Leste was represented by a lone athlete who competed in a single sport. Yohan Goutt Gonçalves served as the country's flag-bearer during the opening ceremony|opening and closing ceremony. Timor Leste did not win any medals in the Games.
The National Olympic Committee of East Timor was formed and recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 2003. [1] The nation made its first participation at the 2000 Summer Olympics as a part of Individual Olympic Athletes under the IOC flag. It participated as Timor-Leste since the 2004 Summer Olympics. [2] The current edition marked its second appearance at the Winter Games after its debut in the previous Games. [3]

Timor-Leste qualified one male athlete. [10] This was the second consecutive Winter Olympics appearance for Yohan Goutt Gonçalves, who also competed for the country in the 2014 Winter Olympics. He was the first and only Winter Olympics participant from Timor-Leste in the previous Games. [11] [12]
The Alpine skiing events were held at the Jeongseon Alpine Centre in Bukpyeong. The course for the events was designed by former Olympic champion Bernhard Russi. The weather was cold and windy during the events, and it was the coldest since the 1994 Winter Olympics at Lillehammer. [13] Goncalves did not record a finish in the men's slalom event, the only event he took part in. [14]
