Timur Tekkal (born 3 June 1981) [1] is a German international rugby union player. He was born in Hannover, and for the DSV 78 Hannover in the Rugby-Bundesliga.

He made his international debut for Germany in 2004 against the Netherlands and his last game on 2 May 2009 against Russia. [1] [2]

He plays rugby since 1988. [3]

Tekkal has also played for the Germany's 7's side in the past, like at the 2009 Hannover Sevens [4] and the 2009 London Sevens. [5] He was also part of the German Sevens side at the World Games 2005 in Duisburg, [6] where Germany finished 8th. [7]

At the end of the 2010-11 season, Tekkal left Victoria Linden to join DSV 78 Hannover for the following season. [8]

DSV 78 Hannover German rugby club

DSV 78 Hannover, founded as DFV Hannover in 1878, is Germany's oldest rugby club. The club played in the 2nd Rugby-Bundesliga under the name DSV 78/08 Ricklingen, having formed an on-the-field union with SV 08 Ricklingen, another club from Hannover.

The Rugby-Bundesliga is the highest level of the league system for rugby union in Germany, organised by the German Rugby Federation.

The Rugby-Bundesliga 2008-09 was the 38th edition of this competition and the 89th edition of the German rugby union championship.
