Tippah Dwan is a professional Australian netball player.
Dwan was signed by the Queensland Firebirds in the Suncorp Super Netball league ahead of the 2019 season, after spending two years in the extended training squad for the team. [1] Born in Toowoomba in South East Queensland, Dwan was raised in several cities; Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, Shanghai and Singapore. [1] She attended Brisbane school Somerville House as a boarding student, having previously attended Australian International School Singapore and Dulwich College Shanghai. As an emerging netballer, Dwan captained the Queensland Under 19 team that traveled to the National Championships in Adelaide in 2018. She also was selected to represent Australia in under 17 and 19 age groups. [1] She made appearances for the Firebirds in all the pre-season games however an unfortunate foot injury prevented her from making her debut during the regular season. She was re-signed as an extended squad member of the 2020 Firebirds team, though was elevated to the senior team as a replacement for the pregnant vice-captain Gretel Bueta. [3] [4]
In August 2021, Dwan was named in the 2021/22 Australian Development squad, one level below the Australian Diamonds. [5]
In September 2021, it was announced that Dwan and fellow player Rudi Ellis would both depart the Firebirds at the end of the month for other clubs. [6] Later the same month, the Adelaide Thunderbirds announced they had signed Dwan for the 2022 Super Netball season. [7] She played for the Thunderbirds for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, winning the premiership in 2023, before departing to be closer to family in Brisbane.
Dwan earned her first call-up to the Australian National Team in October 2023, being named in the squad for the Fast5 Netball World Series on the back of her performance in the 2023 Super Netball season. [2] The Australian team would go on to win the final 35-23 against New Zealand. [8]
On 15 December 2023, it was announced that Dwan had re-signed with her former team the Queensland Firebirds for two years ahead of the 2024 Super Netball season. [9] [10] [11]
Queensland Firebirds are an Australian professional netball team based in Brisbane, Queensland. Since 2017 they have played in Suncorp Super Netball. Between 2008 and 2016, they played in the ANZ Championship and between 1997 and 2007, they played in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy. Firebirds were the most successful team during the ANZ Championship era, playing in five grand finals and winning three premierships, in 2011, 2015 and 2016. They were the only team to win back to back ANZ Championship titles.
Adelaide Thunderbirds are an Australian professional netball team based in Adelaide, South Australia. Since 2017 they have played in Suncorp Super Netball. Between 2008 and 2016, they played in the ANZ Championship and between 1997 and 2007, they played in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy league. Thunderbirds have won five premierships. They won their first two premierships in 1998 and 1999 during the Commonwealth Bank Trophy era, their third and fourth in 2010 and 2013 during ANZ Championship era, and their fifth in 2023 during the suncorp netball era. Historically, Thunderbirds are one of Australia's most successful netball teams. Between 1997 and 2010 they finished in the top three of every regular season, and are the first and only team to win a Trophy at all 3 eras.
Solonaima Maria Folau is a retired New Zealand netball player. She played regularly for the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns.

Rebecca Bulley, also known as Rebecca Strachan, is a former Australia netball international and current netball coach. Between 2008 and 2015 she made 42 senior appearances for Australia. Bulley was a member of the Australia teams that won the gold medal at the 2015 Netball World Cup and the silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Bulley also won three ANZ Championship titles with three different teams – the 2008 New South Wales Swifts, the 2013 Adelaide Thunderbirds and the 2015 Queensland Firebirds. She began her senior club career with Melbourne Kestrels during the Commonwealth Bank Trophy era and finished it playing for Giants Netball in Suncorp Super Netball.
Sharni Norder is a retired Australian sportsperson, known for her top level careers in netball and Australian rules football. Over fifteen years Norder played for six netball clubs in multiple elite competitions, and was a dual premiership player for the Adelaide Thunderbirds. She earned 46 caps for the Australia national netball team, won two gold medals at the Netball World Cup and one gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, and was captain of the team in 2017.
Geva Kate Mentor CBE is a former England netball international. She has competed for England in six Commonwealth Games. She was a member of the England team that won the gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She was also a member of the England teams that won the bronze medal at the 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games and at the 2011, 2015 and 2019 Netball World Cups. She captained England at the 2015 Netball World Cup.
Chelsea Pitman is an Australian-born netball player who represented the England National Netball Team internationally until 18 September 2023. She is currently contracted as a training partner for the West Coast Fever playing in the Suncorp Super Netball competition in Australia. West Coast Fever has just became premiers after winning the Suncorp Super Netball League 2022. She is predominantly a wing attack, but can also play goal attack.
April Brandley is a retired professional Australian netball player in the Suncorp Super Netball league. She played in the positions of GK, GD and WD, and has been selected on several occasions for the Australia national netball team.
Karyn Bailey is a former Australian netball player who played for the Melbourne Vixens, Adelaide Thunderbirds. and played for the Surrey Storm (UK) from 2018 - 2021. After Storm's final game on Monday 21st June 2021, she retired from domestic netball after 17 years of playing top-flight netball.
Gretel Bueta is an Australian netball player and former basketball player.
Gabrielle Simpson, also known as Gabi Simpson, is an Australia netball international. Simpson was vice-captain of the Australia team that won the silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Simpson was also a member of the Queensland Firebirds teams that won the 2015 and 2016 ANZ Championships. Since 2017, Simpson has captained Firebirds in Suncorp Super Netball. In 2017 she received the Liz Ellis Diamond award. She also sits on the board of the Australian Netball Players’ Association.
Kate Walsh is an Australian netball player, most recently in the Suncorp Super Netball league, playing for the Sunshine Coast Lightning. In August 2019, Jess Thirlby the new England Roses Coach announced Shimmin would join the full time England Roses programme.
Sasha Glasgow is an English-Australian netball player in the Suncorp Super Netball league, playing for the West Coast Fever. She currently sits on the board of the Australian Netball Players’ Association.
Maddy Turner is an Australian netball player in the Suncorp Super Netball league, playing for the New South Wales Swifts.
Tara Hinchliffe is an Australian netball player in the Suncorp Super Netball league, playing for the Queensland Firebirds. She also serves as the vice-president of the Australian Netball Players’ Association.

The 2020 Suncorp Super Netball season was the fourth season of the premier netball league in Australia. The season was originally scheduled to commence on 2 May, though was delayed to 1 August due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The defending premiers, New South Wales Swifts were eliminated in the first week of the finals series by the eventual runners-up West Coast Fever. The premiers were the Melbourne Vixens, who defeated the Fever by two goals in the Grand Final at Nissan Arena in Brisbane.
The 2022 Suncorp Super Netball season was the sixth season of the premier netball league in Australia. The season commenced on 26 March and concluded with the Grand Final on 3 July. The defending premiers were the New South Wales Swifts, who narrowly missed out on the finals series. The West Coast Fever won their very first premiership in the club's history, after defeating the Melbourne Vixens 70–59 in the Grand Final.
The 2023 Suncorp Super Netball season was the seventh season of the premier netball league in Australia. The season commenced on Saturday 18 March and concluded with the Grand Final on Saturday 8 July at John Cain Arena. The defending premiers were the West Coast Fever, who were eliminated in the Preliminary Final by the New South Wales Swifts. The Adelaide Thunderbirds won their first premiership in 10 years, narrowly defeating the New South Wales Swifts 60-59 after an extra time Grand Final thriller. This season was the last season to feature the Collingwood Magpies, who withdrew from the competition at the end of the season due to financial difficulties.
