Tirumalpur is an important temple town and a suburb of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. It is also an important suburban train station along the south west line of Chennai Suburban Railway. [1] [2] [3] The place is famous for the historic Thirumarperu Shiva temple.Tirumalpur is located 78 kms away from the State Capital Chennai. Upcoming Chennai Greenfield airport is to be located near Parandur, which is 10 kms from Tirumalpur Suburban Railway Station. It is the part of Arakkonam taluk of Ranipet district.
Avadi is a suburb of Chennai within Chennai Metropolitan Area limit, located in the Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is a municipal corporation west of Chennai, about 22 kilometres (14 mi) from Chennai Central Railway Station. It is surrounded by major defence establishments and is home to various universities and engineering colleges. The city is served by Avadi Railway Station of the Chennai Suburban Railway. As of 2011, Avadi had a population of 345,996, which is 10th most populous place in Tamil Nadu. It is home to the Heavy Vehicles Factory (HVF), Ordnance Factory Board (ODF) which houses Engine Factory and Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE). The lake in Avadi was known as Paaleripattu, which is now found only in very old land documents.
Saidapet, also known as Saidai, is a neighbourhood in Chennai, India, situated in the northern banks of the Adyar River and serves as an entry point to Central Chennai. It is surrounded by West Mambalam in the North, C.I.T Nagar in the North-East, Nandanam in the East, Guindy in the South, Jafferkhanpet and Ashok Nagar in the North-West. It serves the neighbourhood of Kodambakkam, Vadapalani, and Ashok Nagar. The railway station was already in existence when the Chennai Egmore-Kanchipuram suburban railway was opened in 1911.
Kanchipuram railway station serves as the principal railway station of the temple city of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. The station is a part of the Chennai railway division of the Southern Railway zone, one of the eight zones of the Indian Railways and is coded as CJ for official purposes. The station code can be retraced to a time as early as the 1860s when a 3 ft 6in wide gauge line was laid between Arakkonam and Kanchipuram by Indian Tramway Company. Southbound services towards Chengalpattu were then inaugurated, much later in the 1880s, when the Chengalpattu–Walajabad section was commissioned, after which in 1891, Arakkonam–Chengalpattu and Chengalpattu–Arakkonam passenger services began, post conversion of the entire section to broad gauge.

New Chennai Greenfield International Airport is a proposed greenfield airport project to serve the city of Chennai, India. It will be built near Parandur of Kanchipuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It will work alongside Chennai International Airport. The proposed airport will be spread around 5,000 acres. The Government of Tamil Nadu has declared that Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) will lead the project. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) conducted surveys on various areas near Chennai for a new airport for the city. Initially, a site near Sriperumbudur was fixed for the airport. But due to delays and cost of the land, the government decided to set the new airport in Parandur. The airport will also boost trade from Chennai and neighbouring districts as it will have its own dedicated cargo terminal, leading to a rapid increase in the economic development of the state.
