Toab Khan (24 April 1934 – 1 October 2022) [1] [2] was a Bangladeshi journalist. He served as the Advisory Editor of the Bengali daily Janakantha . [3] He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2016 by the Government of Bangladesh. [4]
Khan was born on 24 April 1934 in Satkhira. He started journalism in 1955. He worked for Dainik Sangbad and Dainik Pakistan. He was a press secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and later he served as a chief information officer and director general of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB). He was also a press secretary to President HM Ershad and President Shahabuddin Ahmed. [2] He died on 1 October 2022, at the age of 88.
Abdul Gaffar Choudhury was a Bangladeshi-born British writer, journalist, columnist, political analyst and poet. He wrote the lyrics to "Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano", a widely celebrated song commemorating the Bengali Language Movement. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1967, Ekushey Padak in 1983, and Independence Day Award in 2009.

Ekushey Padak is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh, introduced in memory of the martyrs of the Bengali Language Movement of 1952. Idris Ali is a Bangladeshi actor and activist. He appeared in more than 350 films during the 1980s and 1990s. He earned Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in the film Parineeta (1986) and Best Supporting Actor for Shasti (2005). He is a road safety activist in Bangladesh. He was awarded Ekushey Padak for his social service by the Government of Bangladesh in 2018. He is the current President of Bangladesh Film Artists' Association.
A.Z.M. Enayetullah Khan was a Bangladeshi journalist and government minister. He founded the weekly newspaper Holiday and the daily newspaper New Age. He served in Ziaur Rahman's Cabinet, first as Minister of Land Administration and Land Reform from December 1977 to June 1978, and then as Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources from July 1978 to October 1978.
Kamal Lohani was a Bangladeshi journalist. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2015 by the Government of Bangladesh. He served as the director general of Shilpakala Academy from April 2009 until April 2011.
