Koi Kaze is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Motoi Yoshida. It was published in Kodansha's seinen manga magazine Evening from 2001 to 2004, with its chapters collected in five tankōbon volumes by Kodansha. Final Fantasy: Unlimited (FF:U) is an anime television series based on Square Enix's popular Final Fantasy role-playing video game franchise. Produced by Gonzo, avex mode, TV Tokyo, Dentsu and GDH, the series was directed by Mahiro Maeda, with Atsuhiro Tomioka writing the scripts, Kazuto Nakazawa and Camel 7 designing the characters and Shirō Hamaguchi and Akifumi Tada composing the music. The TV series incorporates both 2D animation and 3D graphics, and takes elements from the Final Fantasy games. It was licensed for North America and the United Kingdom by ADV Films were released on Blu-ray. Square Enix game designer Akitoshi Kawazu served as base concept planning and was intended to be the director for the planned video game series.

Ayana is a Japanese singer-songwriter. She debuted in 1999 as the singer of the opening and ending themes to Key's visual novel Kanon. In 2000, she formed the two-member group Blue Velvet with Shūichi Aoki. She later became a guest vocalist for I've Sound and appeared at the Nippon Budokan on October 15, 2005, at the I've concert "I've in Budokan 2005: Open the Birth Gate", where she sang two songs: a remix version of "Verge" and the normal version of "Last regrets". In 2006, Ayana sang the remix version of Kanon's opening and ending themes on the single "Last regrets / Kaze no Tadoritsuku Basho". On June 20, 2007, she held her first live concert at Roppongi in Tokyo. In October 2007, Ayana reported on her blog that she was married and was pregnant. She gave birth to a son on March 31, 2008.

The manga is about a series of unrelated stories of people's life and their lessons in life. Human Crossing received the 1985 Shogakukan Manga Award for the General category.
Daisuke Inoue is a Japanese businessman best known as an inventor of the karaoke machine. Inoue, a musician in his youth employed in backing businesspeople who wanted to sing in bars, invented the machine as a means of allowing them to sing without live back-up. He did not patent the machine and so did not directly profit, but he continued to work in the industry it generated, including patenting a pesticide for karaoke machines. Named one of Time magazine's "Most Influential Asians of the Century" in 1999, he was awarded the Ig Nobel Peace Prize in 2004 and in 2005 was the subject of the Japanese biographical film Karaoke.

"Kaze no Gotoku" is Japanese-American recording artist Joe Inoue's fifth single, and the second from his album Dos Angeles. The song was used for the opening theme of a season of the reruns of the anime Gin Tama known as Yorinuki Gin Tama-san. "Kaze no Gotoku" remained on the Oricon Weekly Singles Charts for three weeks, peaking at 33. A variation of the song was included on Dos Angeles subtitled the "B.B.B. ver.", "B.B.B." standing for the nonsense phrase "Buri Buri Bass".
