The Toledo Rockets women's basketball team represents the University of Toledo in women's basketball. The school competes in the Mid-American Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Rockets play home basketball games at Savage Arena at the campus in Toledo, Ohio.
As of the 2016–17 season, the Rockets have a 808–534 record, with a 425–245 record in the Mid-American Conference. Toledo has won the Mid-American Conference women's basketball tournament nine times (1991, 1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2017, 2023) while finishing as runner-up in 1984, 1989, 1994, 1998, 2000, and 2010. They reached the Second round of the NCAA tournament in 1992 and 1996. They have made 10 appearances in the Women's National Invitation Tournament, winning the title in 2011 and quarterfinals appearances in 2012 and 2022. [2] [3]

The Louisville Cardinals are the NCAA athletic teams representing the University of Louisville. The Cardinals teams play in the Atlantic Coast Conference, beginning in the 2014 season. While playing in the Big East Conference from 2005 through 2013, the Cardinals captured 17 regular season Big East titles and 33 Big East Tournament titles totaling 50 Big East Championships across all sports. On November 28, 2012, Louisville received and accepted an invitation to join the Atlantic Coast Conference and became a participating member in all sports in 2014. In 2016, Lamar Jackson won the school its first Heisman Trophy.

The Toledo Rockets football team is a college football program in Division I FBS, representing the University of Toledo. The Rockets compete in the Mid-American Conference. Toledo began playing football in 1917, although it did not field teams in 1931, and 1943–1945. Since the inception of the AP Poll in 1936 Toledo has finished in the Top 25 four times. Its highest finish came in 1970 when it ranked No. 12 after finishing 12–0–0. The University of Toledo has a 11–9 record in bowl games. The Rockets were the 2017 MAC champions. The team's head coach is Jason Candle.

The Kent State Golden Flashes women's basketball team represents Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, United States. They received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the first round to Xavier.

The 2022 MAC Championship Game was a college football conference championship game played December 3, 2022, at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. It was the 26th edition of the MAC Football Championship Game and determined the champion of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) for the 2022 season. The game began at 12:00 p.m. EST and aired on ESPN. The game featured the Western Division champion Toledo Rockets against the Eastern Division champion Ohio Bobcats. For sponsorship reasons, the game is officially known as the Rocket Mortgage MAC Championship.
The 2022–23 Mid-American Conference women's basketball season is the season for Mid-American Conference women's basketball teams. It began with practices in October 2022, followed by the start of the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season in November. Conference play will began in January 2022 and concluded in March 2022. The 2023 MAC tournament was scheduled to be held at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio for the 23rd consecutive season.

The team was led by head coach Bob Nichols and played their home games at Centennial Hall in Toledo, Ohio. Toledo won the MAC championship, reached the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament for the only time in program history, and finished with a record of 22–8.
The 2022–23 Toledo Rockets women's basketball team represents University of Toledo during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Rockets, led by fifteenth year head coach Tricia Cullop, play their home games at Savage Arena, as members of the Mid-American Conference. The Rockets completed MAC play with a 16–2 record to claim the regular season championship for the second straight season. As the top seed they defeated Buffalo, Kent State, and Bowling Green to win the MAC tournament. They were placed as the twelfth seed in the Seattle Region 3 of the 2023 NCAA tournament where they defeated Iowa State in the first round. They lost to Tennessee in the second round.
