Circus Contraption was the name of a one-ring circus,vaudeville and dark cabaret troupe based in Seattle,Washington. The troupe,which employs about a dozen performers,uses live,original music paired with old-style circus performances,heavily influenced by cabaret and vaudeville acts. The shows are conceived for adults and usually feature some mature content.
Seattle True Independent Film Festival (STIFF) was started in 2005 by a group of filmmakers whose feature film Swamper was rejected by the Seattle International Film Festival. STIFF was modeled after the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City UT as a way to champion local and true independent films that they felt were being left out of the local film program. The Stranger film critic,Andrew Wright described it as “like a belch in church ”All films that screen at STIFF receive a one-of a kind award called a “STIFFY”. Past STIFFIES run the gamut from “Best Buddy Movie”,to “Hottest Zombie”. On average,STIFF receives over 600 submissions per year and screens over 125 films as part of the nine-day event.
The 5 Point Cafe is a bar and 24-hour cafe in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle,Washington,owned by Dave Meinert. It is located by Tilikum Place and is open since 1929. It is considered the oldest drinking establishment in the neighborhood and has received accolades from local media for being one of the best dive bars in the city.
The Center for Sex Positive Culture (CSPC),formerly known as The Wet Spot,is a non-profit,membership-based organization located in Seattle,Washington. Washington Initiative 502 (I-502) "on marijuana reform" was an initiative to the Washington State Legislature,which appeared on the November 2012 general ballot,passing by a margin of approximately 56 to 44 percent. Originally submitted to the Washington Secretary of State during the summer of 2011,enough signatures were collected and submitted by December to meet the required 241,153 signatures,sending it to the legislature. When the legislature adjourned without action in April,Initiative 502 automatically advanced to the November 2012 general ballot. It was approved by popular vote on November 6,and took effect over the course of a year,beginning with certification no later than December 6,2012. Along with a similar Colorado measure,Initiative 502 was credited for encouraging voter turnout of 81%,the highest in the nation.
Mad Rad is a Seattle-based hip hop/electronic music group that consists of five members;three vocalists,a DJ,and a drummer. Four members of Mad Rad have stage names which are as follows;Nathan Quiroga,Peter Robinson,Gregory Smith,Ty Finnan,and their drummer's name is Trent Moorman. Mad Rad formed in 2007 and have released two full-length albums,their most recent in 2010.

Peter S. Holmes is an American politician and attorney who served as the Seattle City Attorney from 2010 to 2022. He was elected in November 2009,defeating incumbent Tom Carr by a significant margin. After winning a second term uncontested in 2013,he defeated challenger Scott Lindsay in 2017 with nearly 75% of the vote,but failed to advance from the primary in a bid for a fourth term in the 2021 election.

Holden appeared in the 2013 documentary Evergreen:The Road to Legalization. In 2019,The New York Times reported that he was one of the leaders of an effort to unionize employees at Buzzfeed.
The 2021 Seattle City Council election were held on November 2,2021. Two seats of the nine-member Seattle City Council were up for election.
The 2021 Seattle City Attorney election was held on November 2,2021. Incumbent City Attorney Pete Holmes sought reelection to a fourth term in office,but came third place in the officially nonpartisan August 3 primary election and failed to advance to the general election,with both Nicole Thomas-Kennedy and Ann Davison finishing ahead of Holmes in the primary. Davison defeated Thomas-Kennedy in the general election.
