Tonito Akanni Willett (born 6 February 1983) is a West Indian cricketer who played for the Leeward Islands. [1] He is the son of Elquemedo Willett,brother of Akito Willett and the cousin of Stuart Williams. [2] He is a right handed batsman and bowls at a right-arm medium pace. [2]
Willett was a member of the West Indies Under-19 cricket team in 2001 and was included in the squad for the 2002 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand,where he played alongside future West Indies cricket stars Dwayne Bravo,Darren Sammy and Ravi Rampaul. [3]
He made his first-class debut during the 2000–01 Busta Cup for the West Indies B cricket team. His first appearance for the Leeward Islands first class team came in the same competition one year later against the Windward Islands. [4] Willett also played domestic one day cricket for the Rest of Leeward Islands in the 2001–02 Red Stripe Bowl. [5]
Willett also competes for his home island of Nevis in both the LICA three day and one day competitions. He was a part of the Nevis t20 team that competed at the 2006 and 2007/08 Stanford 20/20 tournaments. [6]
The Leeward Islands cricket team is a first class cricket team representing the member countries of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association,an associate of the West Indies Cricket Board. Antigua and Barbuda,Saint Kitts,Nevis,Anguilla,Montserrat,British Virgin Islands,US Virgin Islands and Sint Maarten are members of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association. The team does not participate in any international competitions,but rather in inter-regional competitions in the Caribbean,such as the Regional Four Day Competition and the Regional Super50) The team competes in regional cricket under the franchise name Leeward Islands Hurricanes. The Leeward Islands has won a total of ten domestic titles –four in first class cricket and six in one-day cricket,but their last title was in 1997–98 when they won the double. Leonard Alphonso Harris was a West Indian cricketer who played for the Leeward Islands between 1958 and 1971. An opening batsman for much of his career,and occasional bowler in his final seasons,Harris played in West Indian first class cricket,as well as facing the MCC team,England and Australia during his career. He played 27 matches,scoring nearly 1,400 runs at 29.04,including a century,and taking 15 wickets at 19.46. He then went on to play lower-level cricket for St. Kitts until 1976,and helped create the first cricket academy in the Leeward Islands.

The Montserrat cricket team has represented the British Overseas Territory of Montserrat in cricket. The team is not a member of the International Cricket Council,but the Montserrat Cricket Association is a member of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association,which itself is a member association of the West Indies Cricket Board,and players from Montserrat generally represent the Leeward Islands cricket team at domestic level and the West Indies at international level.
