Gandu Bherunda is a 1984 Indian Kannada language drama film directed by Rajendra Singh Babu featuring an ensemble cast based on the American movie Mackenna's Gold. The plot involves an epigraphist and a geologist on a hunt for an ancient treasure in an island "Hasta Dweepa", from the then 700-year-old Bherunda kingdom. The film is said to be ahead of its time of release and is considered "technically brilliant". However, it failed to perform commercially at the time. The 1987 Hindi movie Khazana was partially based on this movie. This was the first combination of Srinath, Ambareesh and Shankar Nag.

The music was composed by Hamsalekha. The story revolves round Subbu’s (Vishnuvardhan) hunt for a suitable wife and how he eventually finds one, with many hilarious scenes. This film is partially based on the 1978 Bollywood film Trishna which itself was remade from Tamil film Thoondil Meen. It was remade in Telugu as Bandhalu Anubandhalu.
