Sudeep Sanjeev, known mononymously as Sudeep, is an Indian actor, director, producer, screenwriter, television presenter and singer, who primarily works in Kannada language films, in addition to appearances in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil language films.

She began her career in 1966, as a lead actress, with the Kannada movie Love in Bangalore. In a career spanning over 50 years, Bharathi has appeared in 150 films. Apart from 100 films in Kannada, she has also acted in a handful of Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. In the course of her career, she became known for portrayal of the roles mythological and historical characters, and also that of a student, a romantic and a rural belle. Her role in Sri Krishnadevaraya (1970) as Chennambike won her the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress. In 2017, she was honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India.
Kallarali Hoovagi is a 2006 Indian Kannada historical drama romance film directed by T. S. Nagabharana, based on a novel of the same name written by B. L. Venu. Set in 1772, during the reign of Madakari Nayaka, the last ruler of Chitradurga, it features a fictitious love story between a Hindu Veerashaiva boy and a Muslim girl. The film stars Vijay Raghavendra, Umashankari, Anant Nag, Bharathi, Ambareesh, Avinash.

The film background score and soundtrack were composed by Bharathwaj and Produced by Kiccha Creations. The film released on 15 June 2007. This film is remake of 1972 Hindi film Bawarchi which itself was a remake of 1966 Bengali film Galpo Holeo Satti which was already remade in Kannada earlier as Sakala Kala Vallabha.

Ace cinematographer G S Bhaskar who has previously worked for Hollywood legends such has Richard Attenborough has handled the camera. Veteran music director Hamsalekha has composed the music for the film. The movie was initially titled Thandana Thandanana. Ananth Nag had revealed that the movie is thematically similar to Badal Sircar's play Ballabpurer Roopkatha.
