Tore Vikingstad (born 8 October 1975) is a retired Norwegian professional ice hockey player.

Career

Club career

He played for Viking and Stjernen in Norway, then Färjestad and Leksand in Sweden until 2001. He was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the sixth round, 180th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. [1] [2] [3]

A stint in the DEG Metro Stars from 2001 to 2008 was followed by three seasons in the Hannover Scorpions. [2] In the 2005-2006 season of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, he was named MVP and also became the top scorer in the same season with a total of 71 points. That accomplishment also led to Vikingstad being named the best Norwegian ice hockey player of 2005-06, earning him the Golden Puck award.

He returned to Norway Stavanger Oilers, and retired in 2013 after winning the domestic cup.

International career

In the 2010 Winter Olympics at Vancouver, Vikingstad scored a hat trick against Switzerland on February 20 during pool play. [4]

Post-playing career

In June 2013 he was elected to the board of the Norwegian Ice Hockey Association. [5]

Born and raised in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden, Sedin and his identical twin brother Henrik played together throughout their careers; the pair were renowned for their effectiveness as a tandem. During his career, Daniel was known as a goal-scorer, while Henrik was known as a playmaker. Sedin tallied 393 goals and 648 assists in 1,306 games played in the NHL, ranking him as the Canucks' second-highest points scorer all time, behind only his brother Henrik.

Owen Liam Nolan is a Northern Irish-born, Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He was drafted first overall by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. During his 18-year NHL career, he played for the Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Phoenix Coyotes, Calgary Flames, Minnesota Wild, as well as playing a season with the ZSC Lions of National League A. Born in Belfast, he was raised in Thorold, Ontario and played for Canada internationally. A five-time NHL All-Star, Nolan is widely known as a power forward.

Patrice Bergeron-Cleary is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played 19 seasons in the National Hockey League, all with the Boston Bruins. He served as team captain from 2021 until his retirement in 2023. Bergeron played junior hockey with the Acadie–Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) for one full season before being selected 45th overall by the Bruins in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He made the immediate jump from junior to the NHL after his draft and joined the Bruins in the 2003-04 season. In international play, Bergeron competed for Canada and won gold medals at the 2004 World Championships, 2005 World Junior Championships, 2010 Winter Olympics, 2012 Spengler Cup, and 2014 Winter Olympics. Patric Englund is a former Swedish professional ice hockey player who played in the Swedish Hockey League and Norwegian GET-ligaen. Englund was drafted in the eighth round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, but he never played professionally in North America. He spent the first ten seasons of his professional career in Sweden, playing nine seasons with AIK IF, and the final six seasons of his career in Norway with Vålerenga.

David Nyström is a former Swedish professional ice hockey player who played in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and Norwegian GET-ligaen. Nyström was drafted in the eighth round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, but he never played professionally in North America. He spent the first eight seasons of his professional career in Sweden, playing parts of two seasons in the SHL with Frölunda HC and Södertälje SK, and five of his final six seasons in Norway, playing for Vålerenga and Frisk Asker. He is the son of former SHL player and head coach Lars-Fredrik Nyström.
