Tori Anthony (born April 19, 1989) is an American pole vaulter from Woodside, California and the holder of the national indoor and outdoor records for high school women at 14' 2-1/2" (4.33 m) and 14' 1" (4.29 m) respectively.

She was originally a gymnast, but burned out on the sport and switched to track and water polo. Competing in her first track events as a sophomore, she placed fourth in the pole vault at the 2005 CIF California State Meet within four months of taking up the sport. [1] Even before setting the outdoor record, she was named an "Athletes Only" indoor track athlete of the year for 2006-07, [2] and named "best high school girl pole vaulter in the country" by Sports Illustrated. [3] She missed her high school graduation from Castilleja School to set the outdoor record on June 2, 2007. [4] She competed for UCLA, achieving 13' 9" in their uniform to rank number in school history. [5] [6]

She was a two-time champion at the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships, winning in 2006 and 2007. She represented her country internationally at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Athletics (placing eighth in the final) and came fourth at the 2007 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships the following year. In senior national competition she was 11th at the 2007 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships and ninth at the 2007 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She achieved her personal record 4.33 m (14 ft 2+1⁄4 in) that year. She retired from competition in 2012 after suffering injuries. [7] [8]

Richard "Rick" Suhr is an American Olympic level pole vaulting coach in Rochester, New York who coached the #1 women's vaulter in the World from beginner to World #1 two years in a row. He has been awarded the National Coach of the Year for the 2nd consecutive year at the professional level. In the last 8 years, Suhr's athletes have won 18 National Championships and set 16 National Records in the pole vault at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. Suhr is the only pole vault coach to have received the United States Olympic Committee's Ikkos award. He has received this award twice: 2008, 2012. His most notable athlete, Jennifer Suhr has set the American Pole Vault Record 10 times and won the US National Championships 14 different times and is the only American woman ever to clear 16 feet and has done so 8 different times. Jenn Suhr has jumped the 12 highest heights ever by an American women. She also took first in the U.S. Olympic Trials during which she raised her own American Record in the process. Other athletes include HS National Champions Dan Tierney, and Tiffany Maskulinski.

Jan Johnson is an American former athlete who competed mainly in the pole vault. He graduated in 1972 from the University of Alabama, where he holds the school record in the pole vault at 18 feet, 1/2 inch.

Jenn Suhr American pole vaulter

Jennifer Lynn Suhr is an American pole vaulter. She has been an Olympic and World champion, has been ranked #1 in the World, has been the #1 American pole vaulter since 2006, and has won a total of 17 US National Championships. She holds the world indoor pole vault record at 5.03 m. She holds the American women's pole vault record indoors. In 2008, she won the U.S. Olympic trials, setting an American record of 4.92 m and won a silver medal in the Beijing Olympics. She won the gold medal at the London Olympics on August 6, 2012. Track & Field News named her American Female Athlete of the Year for 2008.

Olivia Gruver is an American female Pole vault athlete. Gruver represented Team USA at 2019 Pan Am Games where she placed 4th. Gruver won two NCAA pole vault titles and seven NCAA Division I All-American awards. As a Husky, Gruver set a College outdoor pole vault record.
