Alberto "Treb" Monteras II is a Filipino film director and music video director. [1] [2] He is best known for directing the feature film Respeto. [3]

Monteras has amassed a large number music video credits directing music videos for Bamboo, Rivermaya, Sugarfree, Hale, Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano and Regine Velasquez among other notable artists. [4] [5]

Life and career

Monteras graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Major in Advertising and pursued his passion for filmmaking and studied at the Mowelfund Film Institute, and at the International Institute for Film and the Arts. Later in 2016, he attended the American Society of Cinematographer’s Masterclass. [6]

Monteras´s debut feature film Respeto, starring Abra, Dido de la Paz and Loonie, premiered at the New York Asian Film Festival. [7] It also won the awards for best feature length film, Best Supporting Actor, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound at the 2017 Cinemalaya Film Festival. [8]

R2K is the tenth studio album by Filipino singer-actress Regine Velasquez, released on November 24, 1999, by Viva Records in the Philippines in CD and cassette format and later as a digital download. The album is Velasquez's second from Viva Music Corporation after Drawn. It consists of various covers of hits from the 1980s such as Jeffrey Osborne's "On the Wings of Love" to the 1990s such as Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing". The album was produced by Velasquez and sold more than 40,000 copies in its second week of release, earning a platinum certification, and was certified four times platinum a year later. R2K has since been certified twelve times platinum, becoming the highest-selling album by a female artist in the Philippines.

Respeto (Respect) is a 2017 Philippine drama independent film starring Filipino hip hop artist Abra, and directed by Alberto "Treb" Monteras II. It was co-written by Monteras and screenwriter Njel de Mesa, who drew inspiration from the works of veteran poets such as Vim Nadera and National Artists Bienvenido Lumbera and Virgilio Almario.

It premiered on October 6, 2012 as Sarap Diva on the network's Saturday morning line-up replacing Kapuso Movie Festival. It premiered on October 20, 2018 as Sarap, 'Di Ba?. Filipino entertainer Regine Velasquez has appeared in motion pictures and television programs. She made her screen debut with a minor role in the 1988 comedy film The Untouchable Family.
