Tresfjord or Tresfjorden is a village in Vestnes Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located at the southern end of the fjord, also named Tresfjorden. The village sits about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) south of the large village of Vestnes. The river Tressa empties into the Tresfjorden at this village. [3]

Tresfjorden

Tresfjorden is a fjord in Vestnes Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The 12-kilometre (7.5 mi) long fjord branches off of the main Romsdal Fjord, and it is one of the two main fjords that cut into the municipality. The village of Vestnes sits at the mouth of the fjord and the village of Vikebukt sits at the mouth of the fjord. The village of Tresfjord is located at the southern end of the fjord.

The 0.55-square-kilometre (140-acre) village has a population (2012) of 212, giving the village a population density of 385 inhabitants per square kilometre (1,000/sq mi). [1] The village has a Tine dairy and some other small industries. The Tresfjord Church is an octagonal church dating back to 1828 and it has an altarpiece from the 14th century. There is also the Tresfjord Museum, an open-air museum with old houses and equipment from the village. [3]

As of 2013, it has a revenue of 20.4 billion Norwegian kroner (NOK).($3.41bn, £2.04bn, €2.50bn) The parent company, TINE SA, is a cooperative society owned by its suppliers, the milk producers who deliver milk to the company. The corporation domestically offers the entire spectrum of dairy products, and in many dairy categories Tine faces little or no domestic competition. This monopolistic position has led to criticism of Tine when shortages occur. Tine's internationally known products are Jarlsberg cheese, Snøfrisk goat cheese, Heidal cheese, Ridder cheese, and Ski-Queen (geitost). Tine is the most dominant of the thirteen agricultural cooperatives in Norway.

Tresfjord Church Church in Møre og Romsdal, Norway

Tresfjord Church is a parish church in Vestnes Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Tresfjord. The church is part of the Tresfjord parish in the Indre Romsdal deanery in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden, octagonal church was built in 1828 by the architect/master builder Erik Kroken. The church seats about 270 people.

The European route E136 highway runs through Tresfjord, but in 2014 when the new Tresfjord Bridge opens, the highway will be re-routed over the fjord, rather than around the shoreline of the fjord, so the highway will no longer run through the village of Tresfjord.

European route E 136 is a European highway located entirely in Møre og Romsdal and Oppland counties in Norway. The highway begins in the town of Ålesund in Møre og Romsdal county on the west coast of Norway and it goes east up through the Romsdalen valley and crossing into the upper Gudbrandsdalen Valley to end at the village of Dombås in Oppland county.

The Tresfjord Bridge is a bridge in Vestnes Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway.
The 1,290-metre-long (4,230 ft) bridge across Tresfjorden from Remmem to Vikebukt officially opened to traffic on 24 October 2015.
It carries the European route E136 highway over the fjord, re-routing it from its former path that ran all the way around the shoreline of Tresfjorden. The prime minister Erna Solberg was at the opening ceremony, stepping in for the Minister of Transport, Ketil Solvik-Olsen.

Skånevik is a village in Etne municipality in Hordaland county, Norway. The village is located along the Skånevikfjorden, near the entrance to the Åkrafjorden. The village lies across the fjord from the village of Utåker in neighboring Kvinnherad municipality. The municipal centre of Etnesjøen lies about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) straight south across a mountain, although one must drive about 22 kilometres (14 mi) around the mountain to get there.
