Trevor Griffin is an English cricket coach and former club cricketer. He is the current head coach of women's cricket teams Western Storm,and London Spirit,and has previously been head coach of Sydney Thunder and Sunrisers.
Griffin worked for Nationwide Building Society until 2007. [1] He played club cricket for Ottery St Mary and Whimple. [2] Between 2007 and 2015,Griffin worked as a coach for the Devon Cricket Board,the Chance to Shine charity,and the University of Exeter. [1] He was also the head coach of Ottery St Mary. [2] In 2015,he worked as a coach for Canterbury cricket team in New Zealand. [1] He worked with cricketers including Matt Henry,Henry Nicholls,Tom Latham,Shane Watson,Mike Hussey,Amy Satterthwaite,and Lea Tahuhu. [2] Griffin has also worked with the England women's cricket team and England Academy. [3]
In 2016,he was appointed assistant coach of Western Storm,ahead of the inaugural season of the Women's Cricket Super League (WCSL). [1] In 2017,he became head coach of Western Storm after head coach Caroline Foster stepped down. [1] [2] Storm won two editions of the WCSL whilst Griffin was head coach, [1] in 2017 and 2019. They also made the semi-final in 2018,and the final in 2016 when Griffin was assistant coach. Storm were the most successful team in the WCSL. [4]
Ahead of the 2019–20 Women's Big Bash League season,Griffin was appointed head coach of Sydney Thunder. [1] [5] He was the WBBL's first non-Australian coach,and replaced Joanne Broadbent. [5] Griffin had previously worked for Thunder as an assistant coach. [5] Thunder later won the 2020–21 season. [1]
In 2020,Griffin was appointed the head coach of the Sunrisers,one of the new women's regional cricket hubs. [1] [3] Sunrisers lost all six of their matches in the 2020 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. [6] Griffin was appointed head coach of the London Spirit women's team for The Hundred; [1] [4] the inaugural season of The Hundred was postponed from 2020 to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [3]
In April 2022,it was announced that Griffin was leaving his role as head coach of Sunrisers for personal reasons. [7] It was later announced that he would be returning to Western Storm as head coach,ahead of the 2022 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. [8] In January 2023,Griffin was sacked as head coach of Sydney Thunder,after the team won one of their 14 matches in the 2022–23 season. [9]
Griffin has been divorced,and is now married to Gemma. [1]
The Perth Scorchers (WBBL) are an Australian women's Twenty20 cricket team based in East Perth,Western Australia. They compete in the Women's Big Bash League,and won their first championship in WBBL|07.

Originally formed to compete in the Women's Cricket Super League in 2016,Western Storm won the competition twice,in 2017 and 2019. When women's cricket in England was reformed in 2020,the Western Storm brand was retained,and they now compete in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and the Charlotte Edwards Cup.

The 2019–20 Sydney Thunder Women's season was the fifth in the team's history. Coached by Trevor Griffin and captained by Rachael Haynes,Sydney placed sixth in WBBL|05 and failed to qualify for finals. Ending with the retirement of veterans Alex Blackwell and Rene Farrell,the season marked a changing of the guard for the Thunder through the unearthing of acclaimed young talent such as Hannah Darlington and Phoebe Litchfield.
Naomi Dilip Dattani is an English professional cricketer who plays for and captains Middlesex Women,as well as playing for North West Thunder and London Spirit. She previously played for Surrey Stars,Western Storm and Sunrisers. In 2020,she was one of 25 players awarded regional retainer contracts by the England and Wales Cricket Board. She started playing cricket at the age of 10 for a local cricket club,Perivale Phoenicians Cricket Club.

It featured eight teams in two groups,and had a final. The tournament was named after former England captain Rachael Heyhoe Flint,Baroness Heyhoe-Flint,who died in 2017.

North West Thunder,commonly referred to as Thunder,are a women's cricket team that represent Lancashire and North West England,one of eight regional hubs in English domestic women's cricket. They play their home matches at various grounds,including Old Trafford Cricket Ground. They are captained by Eleanor Threlkeld and coached by Paul Shaw. The team carries over many elements of the WCSL team Lancashire Thunder,but are now partnered with Lancashire,Cheshire and Cumbria.

The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy is an English women's cricket domestic competition,named after former England captain Rachael Heyhoe Flint,Baroness Heyhoe-Flint,who died in 2017. The first edition of the tournament took place during August and September 2020,with the Southern Vipers beating the Northern Diamonds in the final. Initially started as a one-off tournament,in February 2021 the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced it would return for the 2021 season as a permanent part of the women's domestic structure in England,alongside the Charlotte Edwards Cup.

It featured eight teams playing in a round-robin group,followed by a knock-out round. The holders were the Southern Vipers,who won the inaugural competition in 2020. It ran alongside the Charlotte Edwards Cup. The tournament was named after former England captain Rachael Heyhoe Flint,Baroness Heyhoe-Flint,who died in 2017.
The 2021 Charlotte Edwards Cup,initially named the 2021 Women's Regional T20,was the first edition of the Charlotte Edwards Cup,an English women's cricket Twenty20 domestic competition took place between 26 June and 5 September 2021. It featured eight teams playing in two double round-robin groups,followed by a Finals Day. South East Stars won the tournament,beating Northern Diamonds in the final. The tournament ran alongside the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.
The Charlotte Edwards Cup,initially named the Women's Regional T20,is an English women's cricket Twenty20 domestic competition organised by the England and Wales Cricket Board. The first edition of the tournament took place in 2021. The tournament is named after England's former captain and most capped player,Charlotte Edwards.
The 2020 season was Sunrisers' first season,in which they competed in the 50 over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy following reforms to the structure of women's domestic cricket in England. The side finished bottom of the North Group of the competition,losing all six of their matches.
The 2022 season was Sunrisers' third season,in which competed in the 50 over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and the Twenty20 Charlotte Edwards Cup. In the Charlotte Edwards Cup,the side finished bottom of Group A,losing all six of their six matches. In the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy,the side finished bottom of the group,losing six of their seven matches,with the other cancelled.
The 2022 season saw Western Storm compete in the 50 over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and the Twenty20 Charlotte Edwards Cup. In the Charlotte Edwards Cup,the side won three of their six matches,finishing third in Group A. In the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy,the side finished fourth in the group,winning three of their seven matches.
