The A Tri-Rivers District is a high school conference in the state of Virginia that comprises high schools in Southeastern Virginia west of the Hampton Roads metropolitan area. The Tri-Rivers District schools compete in A Region A with the schools from the A/AA Eastern Shore District, the A Northern Neck District, and the A Tidewater District of the Virginia High School League.
Hampton Roads is the name of both a body of water that serves as a wide channel for the James, Nansemond and Elizabeth rivers between Old Point Comfort and Sewell's Point where the Chesapeake Bay flows into the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding metropolitan region located in the Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina portions of the Tidewater region.
The Virginia High School League (VHSL) is the principal sanctioning organization for interscholastic athletic competition among public high schools in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The VHSL first sponsored debate and also continues to sponsor state championships in several academic activities.
The Appomattox Regional Governor's School for the Arts And Technology is a public regional magnet high school in downtown Petersburg, Virginia. Based on 2010 Census data, Vernon Township was the county's largest in both population and area, with a population of 23,943 and covering an area of 70.59 square miles (182.8 km2).

As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 5,045 reflecting a decline of 115 (-2.2%) from the 5,160 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 183 (+3.7%) from the 4,977 counted in the 1990 Census.

The Bay Rivers District is an athletic district of the Virginia High School League which includes schools in the Hampton Roads metropolitan area. The district was formed in 1990 with the consolidation of schools from the York River District and Peanut District schools. The schools in the Bay Rivers District compete in 2A, 3A, and 4A. Since 2013, the district is only used for the regular season.
The Eastern Shore District is a high school conference that competes in A Region A of the Virginia High School League. The district is located in the Eastern Shore of Virginia which is isolated in the Delmarva Peninsula from the rest of the Commonwealth which include all the public schools in Accomack County and Northampton County. Though all of the district's members are currently in Group A, it is not uncommon to see multiple members play in Group AA from time to time when the district offers a combination format.
Clint Bradley Didier is a professional American football player, farmer, and perennial candidate. He played for the Washington Redskins and Green Bay Packers, and later sought elected office on four separate occasions. Didier was finally elected to political office in 2018, as a Franklin County Commissioner.
State Route 35 is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of Virginia. The state highway runs 48.71 miles (78.39 km) from the North Carolina state line near Boykins, where the highway continues as North Carolina Highway 35, north to SR 605 and SR 622 in Templeton. SR 35 is the main north–south highway of Southampton County; the highway also connects U.S. Route 58 in Courtland with Interstate 95 (I-95) and US 301 at Templeton south of Petersburg.
