Trident Medical Center is a for-profit, 321-bed hospital in North Charleston, South Carolina owned and operated by HCA Healthcare through its subsidiary Trident Health System. [3]

Trident Medical Center originally opened in 1975. [4] In 2015 it celebrated its 40th anniversary and a celebration was held. [5] It is directly across the street from Charleston Southern University.

Facilities

The hospital has been an American College of Surgeons-verified Level II trauma center since 2016. [6]

It is affiliated with the Medical University of South Carolina. The hospital features all private rooms that consist of 250 pediatric beds and 29 beds for women. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21 throughout the Carolinas. The hospital also sometimes treats adults that require pediatric care. The hospital has a rooftop helipad and is an ACS verified level I pediatric trauma center, the only one in South Carolina. Wellstar North Fulton Hospital is a major hospital located in Roswell, the ninth-largest city in Georgia. The hospital serves most of north Fulton County, Georgia, as well as neighboring Cherokee, Cobb, Forsyth and Gwinnett counties. Wellstar North Fulton Hospital is the third largest employer in the city of Roswell and is considered the epicenter of the city's growing healthcare industry.
