The show has been arranged by IFPI since 1989, and was originally called IFPI-prisen ("IFPI-Award") until 1991, when it changed its name to Dansk Grammy. It was changed to its current name, Danish Music Awards in 2001, after the American Grammy Awards registered the name "Grammy" as their trademark. In 2011, IFPI joined together with TV2 and KODA to present the awards ceremony.

Its lead single, "Girl's Best Friend" performed by Jay-Z, peaked at #52 on the Hot 100 and #19 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. So Plush's "Damn " peaked at #41 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and #68 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.
Alphabeat is the debut studio album by Danish band Alphabeat. It was first released in Denmark on 5 March 2007 by Copenhagen Records, and eventually in the rest of Europe in 2008 under the title This Is Alphabeat by the revived Charisma Records.

The album is the band's first release on their new label 4AD, and was released on February 22, 2010 and a day later in North America. The album was also released on the band's own label, Rumraket, in Scandinavia. The band began recording the album in January 2009 in studios across Copenhagen and Århus, Denmark, and mixed the album with producer Gareth Jones. The first single "Modern Drift" was released as a free MP3 track on 4AD's website on November 19, 2009, and the music video for the song premiered on January 25, 2010.

Boyz-n-Blue is the debut studio album by American hip hop group Boss Hogg Outlawz. It was released independently on April 20, 2004 through their own Boss Hogg Outlawz record label. The album was released as a 2-disc set with one side featuring the original mix and the other featuring the songs chopped and screwed. Leroy "Mr. Lee" Williams produced all the songs on the album while DJ Yellaboy provided the chopped and screwed mix on disc two.

It was self-released on July 30, 2013, marking the group's first project since leaving Psychopathic Records in December 2012. Recording sessions took place at "The Disc". Production was handled by Michael "Seven" Summers, Eric Davie, and the Dead Beatz. In regards to Twiztid's prior albums, A New Nightmare featured the most guest appearances overall, such as AJAX, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Bukshot, Caskey, Danny Boone of Rehab, DJ Swamp, Dominic, Irv Da Phenom, Jared Gomes of (həd) p.e., JellyRoll, Johnny Richter, Lil Wyte, Liquid Assassin, Mickey Avalon, Swollen Members, The R.O.C., Wrekonize of ¡Mayday!, Aqualeo, and Anybody Killa.
Side Effects is an EP by the Danish singer-songwriters Mads Langer and Tim Christensen, released on July 19, 2014 through RCA and Sony Music Denmark. The EP was awarded the "Danish rock album of the year", while the collaboration garnered the duo a GAFFA Award for "Danish rock band of the year".

Belly (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack to Hype Williams' 1998 film Belly. It was released on November 3, 1998, through Def Jam Recordings and featured production from the likes of Poke & Tone, Dame Grease, Sean Combs and Swizz Beatz. The soundtrack was a success, peaking at #5 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and spawned the single "Grand Finale" by rappers DMX, Ja Rule, Method Man and Nas. "Grand Finale" made it to #63 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and #18 on the Hot Rap Songs. Four music video singles were released for "Grand Finale", "What About", "Movin' Out" and "Tommy's Theme".
Solid States is the eighth and final studio album by American alternative rock band The Posies, released on 29 April 2016 by American label MyMusicEmpire. It was the band's first new album release in six years, and the first since the deaths of drummer Darius Minwalla and bass player Joe Skyward.
