Hold Your Fire is the twelfth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released on September 8, 1987. It was recorded at The Manor Studio in Oxfordshire, Ridge Farm Studio in Surrey, Air Studios in Montserrat and McClear Place in Toronto. Hold Your Fire was the last Rush studio album released outside Canada by PolyGram/Mercury. 'Til Tuesday bassist and vocalist Aimee Mann contributed vocals to "Time Stand Still" and appeared in the Zbigniew Rybczyński-directed video.

Love Hurts is the twentieth studio album by American singer and actress Cher, released on June 18, 1991, by Geffen Records. The album was her final studio album with the record company after a 4-year recording contract. The lead single from the album in Europe was "The Shoop Shoop Song ", while other regions "Love and Understanding" acted as the lead. The follow-up singles were "Save Up All Your Tears", "Love Hurts", "Could've Been You" and "When Lovers Become Strangers". It peaked at number 48 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart with the sales of 19,000 copies. In November 2011, Billboard stated that Love Hurts had sold 600,000 copies in the US. In Europe the album was a major success, peaking at number one and top 10 in several countries, including the UK where it spent 6 weeks at number one on the UK Albums Chart.

McAuley Schenker Group were a Multi-national rock band based in Los Angeles featuring core members Robin McAuley (vocals) and Michael Schenker (guitar), a successor to Schenker's earlier band Michael Schenker Group. McAuley was initially contacted to replace singer Gary Barden in MSG. However, the strong partnership immediately formed between McAuley and Schenker led to the change of the name from Michael Schenker Group to McAuley Schenker Group, retaining the same initials of the previous band MSG.

The band worked with producer Don Gilmore in Los Angeles, but were disappointed with these sessions, and instead worked with Butch Walker at Sage and Sound Recording in Los Angeles then back in Cardiff with Richard Jackson and London with Stephen Harris.

Guy Mann-Dude is an American musician who was best known in the late 1980s and early 1990s after his eponymous band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1988. He played guitar for the Michael Angelo Band before going solo and was part of the supergroup The Dudes of Wrath in 1989. He worked as a musician and producer in Czechoslovakia in the early 1990s, collaborating with Miloš "Dodo" Doležal on two albums.

Tear the Signs Down was the first album released by the band on their own Armoured Records after splitting with B-Unique. The first single "Interstate" was released on 6 December 2009, with second single "Run & Hide" released a week prior to the album itself on 1 March 2010. Third single "Cannot Be Saved" was released on 20 June 2010.

Lone Arranger is the second solo album by South African keyboardist Manfred Mann. Like its predecessor, 2006, it features various guest musicians, including Kris Kristofferson, Till Brönner and Mick Rogers. It also includes three songs by other artists which sampled Manfred Mann recordings, over which Mann then added new keyboards and other contributions: "One Hand in the Air" is a shortened version of Kanye West's "So Appalled", with an added chorus by Caitlyn Scarlett. "I Came For You" is the Disco Boys remix, slightly shortened and with new synth solos added. Likewise, "One Way Stand-Up" is The Prodigy's "Stand Up", which was based on Manfred Mann Chapter Three's "One Way Glass", with added keyboards.
