The Trupele de Carabinieri (Carabinier Troops in English) is the national gendarmerie force of the Republic of Moldova, under the administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova. The Moldovan Carabinieri are to ensure, together with the police or independently, public order, protection of rights and freedoms of citizens, owners' properties and prevention of violations of the law. The structure of the agency is based on the Italian Carabinieri, where it gets its name.
The Department of Carabineer Troops has 5 Military Units and some 2,000 soldiers working on a contract basis or on time.
On December 12, 1991, the establishment of the Carabinieri Troops was approved by the Parliament and subsequently signed by the President of the Republic of Moldova on the basis of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova, themselves formations that before independence served as part of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Moldovan SSR. On March 13, 1992, a Carabinieri subdivision headed into the Transnistria region to serve on the Moldovan side of the Transnistria War. Over a week later, during the assault near the village of Coșnița, many soldiers of the Carabinieri were killed in its first engagement during the conflict. On August 24, 1993, the Carabinieri began fulfilling its tasks objectives, for which was approved by President Mircea Snegur 2 years earlier. In February 1998 the units and subunits of the Carabinieri troops participated in the liquidation of the natural disasters in the village of Hîncești. [3]
The Band of the Department of Carabinier Troops of the MAI (Romanian : Orchestra Departamentului de Carabinieri a Ministerului de Interne) is the sole military band of the Carabinier Troops, currently led by Lieutenant Oleg Casacu. It was founded on 1 April 1994, at the initiative of Colonel Nicolae Usaciov. It was created under the name of "Military Band of the Carabinier Troops". On 21 February 2002, the band's name was extended to reflect the DTC's full name. The band participates actively in cultural and artistic activities for the DTC (particularly military oath ceremonies and demonstrations organized by the government). It also participates in festivals and military tattoos in different countries such as Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, and Russia. In June 2015, the band won 1st Prize for being the best marching contingent in a concert in Italy. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] On the 20th anniversary of Moldova's independence in 2011, the band played Limba noastră (the national anthem) on Moldovan TV station Publika TV. [10] It is on par with the Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Moldova in the National Army and the Central Band of the Moldovan Border Police.

The "Credo" Chamber Choir is a musical subdivision of the DTC. It has given concerts both on stage in the country and abroad. It is distinguished with numerous titles and awards. It has been honored with the title of winner at 25 international competitions in: Germany, Poland, Austria, Ukraine, Belgium, Bulgaria, United Kingdom, France, Belarus, Netherlands, Malta and Switzerland, being awarded with the Grand Prix, 12 medals Gold and 7 Silver. The sports team is made up of military sportsmen who actively participate in the Olympics, international and European championships. It prepares jointly with the central sports club "Dinamo", the Sports Agency, and the National Olympic Committee. [13]
The Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova consist of the National Army and the Trupele de Carabinieri under the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Until 2012, the Moldovan Border Police belonged to the armed forces.
The General Police Inspectorate is the national civilian police force of the Republic of Moldova. It is a state institution subordinated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, that regulates law enforcement in Moldova. The current Chief of the General Police Inspectorate is currently Viorel Cernăuțeanu.

The flag ratio is 1:2. Until further provisions, the State Flag of Moldova is used as the national flag and ensign as well; that is, civil, state and war flag and ensign.
A carabinier is in principle a soldier armed with a carbine, musket, or rifle, which became commonplace by the beginning of the Napoleonic Wars in Europe. The word is derived from the identical French word carabinier.
The European Social Democratic Party is a centre-left, populist social-democratic political party in Moldova. Established in 1997, the party holds pro-European views, and is an associate member of the Party of European Socialists (PES) and a full member of the Socialist International. According to its statute, the PSDE pleads that Moldova is an independent, sovereign, and democratic state, based on law, and integrated in the united family of European democracies. Reflecting former leader Marian Lupu's views, but also the strong influence of the Moldovan Orthodox Church, the party is more conservative on social issues, such as LGBT rights.
The Moldovan Ground Forces, known officially as Land Forces Command is the land armed-forces branch of the National Army of the Moldovan Armed Forces. The Moldovan Ground Forces date back to the dissolution of the Soviet Union between 1991 and 1992. As of 2018 the Moldovan Ground Forces consists of around 4,000 personnel.

The Chișinău Independence Day Parade is one of the events of the Independence Day of Moldova held by the Moldovan National Army. The parade is held in Chișinău, Moldova on August 27 every 5 to 10 years on Great National Assembly Square.
The Presidential Band of the Republic of Moldova is an artist collective and the senior most military band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova, specifically serving the President of Moldova in his/her position as commander in chief. The band plays at welcome ceremonies of foreign officials on state visits, ceremonies of national importance, military parades, the accreditation ceremonies for ambassadors to Moldova, and various community events. The current commander of the band is Lieutenant Colonel Leonid Vozniuc, who is the director of all the military bands in the armed forces. The band, which currently consists of 110 musicians, has performed in international festivals and military tattoos in Germany, Russia, Belgium and Romania.
Oleg Balan is a Moldovan jurist and politician who served as Minister of Internal Affairs of Moldova between 18 February 2015 and 20 January 2016.
Alexandru Jizdan is a Moldovan politician and police officer who served as Minister of Internal Affairs of Moldova from 2016 to 2019 in the Filip Cabinet. Previously he worked in various positions in structures of Interior Ministry, and in 2015-2016 worked as deputy director of Information and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova. After the April 2009 protests in Moldova he was awarded by the then-minister Gheorghe Papuc for executing well the orders. From 9 March 2019, the MP of the DPM in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.

The Central Band of the Moldovan Border Police also known as the Fanfara Poliției de Frontieră is a Moldovan artistic group of professional who represent the image of the Moldovan Border Police through their ceremonial music. It commonly performs masterpieces that cover various musical genres, which include military marches, waltzes, tango, and national music folklore. The band is always present at events organized by the Border Police, which include but are not limited to official holidays, military rites, the submission of the Moldovan Oath of Faith, sports competitions, etc.
The COVID-19 pandemic in Moldova was a part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The virus was confirmed to have reached the Republic of Moldova on 7 March 2020, when a Moldovan woman who returned from Italy tested positive for the novel coronavirus. As the number of infected people started to rise during the next days, the Parliament declared a state of emergency on 17 March 2020 for the entire territory of the Republic of Moldova for a period of 60 days.
The Independent Special Forces Battalion "Fulger" is a military unit of the Land Forces of the Moldovan National Army, based in Chișinău.
The Guard Battalion of the Moldovan National Army is a unit in the Moldovan Ground Forces. It is based in the capital of Chișinău, specifically at Military Camp 142. The battalion was formed on October 16, 1992. It shares the same birthday as the Independent Engineer Battalion "Codru" and the Communications and Informatics Center.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Romania has supported Moldova on several occasions, supplying it with medical equipment and supplies, volunteer Romanian experts and doctors and even a series of COVID-19 vaccine units that arrived on 27 February 2021, which allowed Moldova to start its vaccination program.
