Tyrell Ford (born March 30, 1998) is a Canadian professional football defensive back for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played U Sports football for the Waterloo Warriors.
Playing alongside his twin brother, Tre Ford, at A. N. Myer Secondary School, Ford led the Marauders to a Junior Metrobowl championship in 2013, and three straight OFSAA championships from 2014 to 2016.
Ford played U Sports football for the Waterloo Warriors from 2017 to 2021. [1] Over four seasons, he played in 30 games where he had 94 total tackles, six sacks, 20 pass knockdowns, and six interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. [1] He was also a kick returner for the team where he had 40 kick returns for 733 yards and 82 punt returns for 1,139 yards and three touchdowns. [1] He was named a U Sports Second Team All-Canadian at cornerback in 2019 and 2021. [2]
Ford was drafted in the second round, 13th overall, by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 2022 CFL Draft and signed with the team on May 20, 2022. [3] He made the team's active roster following training camp and played in his first professional game on June 10, 2022, against the Ottawa Redblacks where he had one special teams tackle. [2] In his rookie season he played in all 18 regular season games and contributed with 10 special teams tackles and three defensive tackles. Following the season, he had a workout with the Jacksonville Jaguars (NFL). [4] He was released by the Blue Bombers on January 10, 2023, in order to sign an NFL contract. [5]
On January 10, 2023, Ford was signed to a reserve/future contract with the Green Bay Packers. [6] He was released on August 29, 2023. [7] Following his release from the Packers, Ford remained unsigned by any team, and did not play in 2023. [8]
On February 20, 2024, Ford re-signed with the Blue Bombers. [8] [9]
Ford has a twin brother, Tre, who plays quarterback for the Edmonton Elks and also played for the Waterloo Warriors. [10] Ford began playing football when he was six years old when his father, Robert, introduced him to the sport and also served as his coach. [10] [11]
Henoc Muamba is a Congolese-Canadian former professional football linebacker who played in both the Canadian Football League (CFL) and National Football League (NFL). Mike Miller is a Canadian former professional football player who is currently the special teams coordinator for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played in the CFL as a linebacker and fullback for 11 years. He is a three-time Grey Cup champion, having won with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2015 and with the Blue Bombers in 2019 and 2021. He is the CFL's all-time leader in career special teams tackles and holds the record for most special teams tackles in one game with seven.
Adam Bighill is an American professional football linebacker for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is a three-time Grey Cup champion, winning with the BC Lions in 2011 and twice more with the Blue Bombers in 2019 and 2021. He is a three-time winner of the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award and is a six-time CFL All-Star and eight-time CFL West All-Star. He also spent time with the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Central Washington Wildcats.
Willie Hebert Jefferson III is an American professional football defensive end for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Jefferson is a three-time Grey Cup champion, winning with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2015 and twice more with the Blue Bombers in 2019 and 2021. He was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2019 with the Bombers, and is a five-time CFL All-Star and six-time CFL West All-Star. Austin Lumberjacks and the Baylor Bears.

He first enrolled at Garden City Community College before transferring to the University of Wyoming. He attended Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colorado.
