Ujwadu is a 2011 Konkani film directed by Kasargod Chinna and produced by KJ Dhananjaya and Anuradha Padiyar as the third film ever produced in the GSB Konkani language and attempts to showcase Konkani Saraswatha tradition and culture.

Released 14 October 2011, and with music by V Manohar, the film stars Shivadhwaj, Neethu, Sadashiv Brahmavar, Sandhya Pai, Prameela Nesargi, Dr. Ananth Prabhu and Umashree. [1] [2]

Plot

Ujwadu depicts the story of simple happy-go-lucky Gowda Saraswat Brahmins way of life with turmoil and struggle within.

Ujwadu took off with its Muhurat in Bangalore on 22 April 2011 at Kumaraswamy Lay Out. Celebrities from Kannada Film world including Girish Kasaravalli, T. S. Nagabharana, Jayamala, Umashree and Dr. K. Ramesh Kamath who produced and directed Konkani film in the early Eighties namely ‘Jana Mana’. [3]

The film was shot around Karkala and Mangalore, and is the Third film of GSB Konkani language. Prior to its release, the only two GSB Konkani films produced were Tapaswini and Jana Mana. [4]

The Tarleton State Texans football program, also known as the Tarleton Texans, is the intercollegiate American football team for Tarleton State University located in the U.S. state of Texas. Through the 2019 season, the team competed in NCAA Division II as members of the Lone Star Conference, but moved to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) beginning in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The history of Bible translations into the Konkani language begins with Ignazio Arcamone (1615–1683), an Italian Jesuit working in Salcette, Goa was the first to translate parts of the Bible to Konkani language. It was published under the title "Sogllea Vorunsache Vanjel" from Rachol Seminary Printing Press in 1667. Copies of this book are not available.

Damodar Mauzo

Damodar Mauzo is a Goan short story writer, novelist, critic and script writer in Konkani. He was awarded the Jnanpith Award in 2021, Sahitya Akademi Award in 1983 for his novel Karmelin and the Vimala V. Pai Vishwa Konkani Sahitya Puraskar award for his novel Tsunami Simon in 2011. His collection of Short stories Teresa's Man and Other Stories from Goa was nominated for the Frank O'Connor International award in 2015. He has served as a member of the executive board, general council, as well as the finance committee of the Sahitya Akademi.

Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu is a 2018 Telugu-language vigilante thriller film directed by R. Inndrasena and produced by Appa Rao under Baba Creations banner. The film features an ensemble cast including Nara Rohit, Sudheer Babu, Shriya Saran, and Sree Vishnu in the lead roles. The film released on 26th October 2018 to a negative critical reception and commercial failure. This film is dubbed in Tamil in the name "Kannula Thimiru" by Star Vijay channel.
